We like to order Chinese food in my household. Lucky for us, we have a few places within easy driving distance and we order takeout from one of these eateries at least once per week. Sometimes, we do venture a little outside our usual 3...mile radius and one Chinese restaurant we have tried and liked is Fusion Wok.
With Fusion Wok, guests are treated to Chinese and Japanese cuisine, including sushi, which is one of the reasons we visited here in the first place. Walking into Fusion Wok, I can remember being a little surprised at its size. It’s in a small strip mall and from the outside, it looks like it’s going to be a simple restaurant with maybe two or three tables for seating and a largely carryout- focused business. Carryout is certainly big here, but the inside is larger than expected, with multiple tables and chairs and even a bar area for seating.
We like to order multiple foods when we order Chinese and then have each family member select and eat what they like. Our order almost always includes General Tso’s chicken and Orange chicken, along with appetizers like egg rolls, crab ragoons, and sometimes wonton soup. We usually add a beef or pork selection to round out the meats. This is exactly what we have done when ordering at Fusion Wok and we have found the chicken dishes very good. The same could be said for the sushi- the rest of the family loves sushi and they love what is served here. Where Fusion Wok loses a few points is with the beef dishes. The problem is that the beef is a little too oily/greasy and it has an unusual grey color. I can remember the last time I got carryout from here, one of the food items we ordered was Pepper Steak and when we were about to eat the food at home, one of the kids wasn’t sure what type of meat it was. Due to its lighter off- color, she thought it could be chicken.
Fusion Wok helps customers choose what to eat by labeling food items that contain above average spiciness and that are vegetarian. This is useful because it helps customers decide what to order without having to constantly ask the servers for verification. Oh, and they do serve beer and wine here, too, which is a great match for certain foods.
Chinese food will probably always be one of our go- to foods and we will continue to order from some of our favorite local restaurants. Fusion Wok is a little out of the way for Chinese takeout, but the quality of the sushi and other foods make it worthy of continued visits. I wasn’t impressed with the beef items on the menu, but the other foods are above average and with all factors considered, Fusion Wok easily makes the cut and earns a recommendation.More
