I have to say it was not what I expected, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the dishes were made with fresh vegetables. That makes a huge difference in a Chinese dish. I stop in once a week when I am in the area. It is clean, service is friendly, and the food is very good. I particularly love the shrimp lettuce wraps and the walnut shrimp.

Chinese food is probably my household’s most often consumed cuisine. We sometimes dine out when we satisfy our Chinese cravings but more often than not, we order Chinese for carryout or delivery. We just moved to a new part of town and have been trying out new Chinese restaurants and one of our new adventures is Z&T Chinese Café.
Z&T Chinese Café is much like other Chinese carryout restaurants in many ways. They offer the usual food choices like General Taos chicken, Beef with vegetables, sweet and sour pork, etc. There are no truly unique items on the menu. Everything is very ordinary and the same is true with the atmosphere. It’s basically a place to sit and eat and little else.
Okay, so Z&T Chinese Café is very ordinary in terms of menu selections and atmosphere, but what about the food? Well, unfortunately it, too, is very ordinary. When we order Chinese food, we try to get an assortment of different options, like one chicken dish, one beef, one pork, etc., and then share the food among everyone. This is what we did at Z&T Chinese Café and everyone in the family agreed that the food just wasn’t very special. My wife said it best when she stated that the food wasn’t authentic Chinese, but rather an Americanized version of Chinese. That pretty much sums it up. The food to me didn’t seem much better than the food I have ordered at local Chinese buffets, which isn’t saying much.
Chinese food comprises a good portion of our diets in my household, but Z&T Chinese Café does not rank very highly on our list. Unless I get a great coupon offer in the mail or find some other promotion, I doubt I will return. The food isn’t bad, it’s just not anything special and there are far better places for Chinese food in the Katy, TX area.

This small Chinese restaurant is a pleasure to dine in, as it is very casual and they are always very friendly. They also serve a high quality product. No MSG! The food is delicious and the portions generous. The staff are very friendly and want to help you if you have questions. We have eaten here many times, and the product is consistently top notch. They also deliver.

it's a small place and has the potential to be really good but the food was not tasty at all. the hot & sour soup tastes like cornstartch soup with red pepper, the egg rolls have too much 5 spice in them which is overwhelming & the kids do not like them. if they step it up and make some good scratch chinese food, they'll do much better! they have a great location and they deliver nearby...
