I don't liking using the phrase, "tourist trap" and it really does not actually apply. But as far as dining experiences go, it's pretty average compared to any other fish camp. The high light of the meal is the cole slaw; excellent. Otherwise it is pretty pedestrian.

I can't say enough about this restaurant. The catfish, coleslaw and hush puppies were the best I've ever eaten in my life. I would drive to this restaurant just for the coleslaw and hush puppies along. The catfish was cooked to perfection. We ordered the 5 piece fillets and waitress asked if we were sharing and I said no we... More

Big Pines is an intuition at Caddo Lake in Karnack. It's had its ups and downs over the years. Now that it's been rebuilt, the building is adorable and in a prime location. Now that it's under new management, the food has finally gotten better (up from horrible). But, the service is unbelievably bad! The lady who answers the phone... More

I heard from a coworker that this place was "awesome" and awesome it was!!! I got my catfish extra crispy and it was perfect! The french fries were delish, as was the coleslaw and jalapeño hushpuppies. I can't wait to go back and sit on the deck when the weather gets cooler.

We decided to eat here because we arrived early for a tour of the lake. We each ordered the senior catfish plate. For starters, they bring out jalapeno cornbread and wonderful coleslaw. I really, really liked the coleslaw. Could have eaten the whole bowl, but had to save room for the rest of my meal. The catfish came out hot... More

This restaurant is on the grounds of Capt. Rons swamp tour. We had lunch there after the tour. Plenty of food, friendly staff, service was a little slow but we were not in any rush anyway.

Big Pines Lodge has the best fish we have every had. The location is great and sits right next to the river so after a long day on the river/lake you can dock your boat and grab lunch or supper.

We met family here that lived close. Fish was very good. Very large pieces. Cole slaw was terrific. I had baked potato, my husband had fries. Both were really good also. Hushpuppies tasted and looked more like churros than hushpuppies.

We have waited for the 12 o ' clock tour here . The restaurant opens at 11.00 , but we have been let in before 11.00. Nice friendly service. We sat in a booth at a window and could have a good glimpse on the Caddo Lake, or one of the side arms. We enjoyed the food which was very... More

Wife and I were camping at Lake of Pines for the 4th weekend and it was HOT on Sunday so we decided to ease over to Karnack and this great restaurant while we were only 22 miles away. It's 62 miles from our house. We had been here before but not in several months. The place is like a step... More
