So there aren't many places open in the evenings for food, other than fast food. The food here is good but it definitely has the bar atmosphere. Not somewhere to take the family after 6ish. No complaints about that, it is what it is.

Jefferson is like a baby New Orleans without the crazy happenings if you know what I mean. And Auntie Skinner's is like being in one of the old buildings of New Orleans. The building was built in 1866 I think and is a really neat place. A restaurant, bar, pool tables and a live band on the weekends with dancing.... More

On a late Sunday afternoon, Auntie Skinner's was one of a few eateries open in Jefferson. We had a cold beer and some sweet potato fries. Good times!

My Grandmother grew up in Jefferson and took us to see where she grew up, choosing this place for lunch. The menu had a great selection, our server was very attenative and did great with our large party of 12 seating us in the coolest spot in the rest ( per our request) every one's meals were HUGE and well... Auntie Skinner's boasts generous portions and good service, but the local resident's cigarette smoking spoiled the dining experience.

Relax and enjoy the eclectic group of people that come to this location. You can have ties, trousers and tank tops all together for an enjoyable time. Good food for the money and the service is usually very good and personable. I have not had a bad experience here in the years that I have been going to this place.

We were happy to find a restaurant open downtown on Sunday evening. The service was great, and the food was excellent. There are several reasonably priced entrees, like grilled chicken and chicken fried steak. The only bad thing was that we had to get through the smoke in the bar area as we entered. We ate in the very back... More

One of the best bars in the state that I've visited. It's funky and has a great atmosphere. You can feel the history as you walk in the door. It was a cotton warehouse before the civil war. The food is great, my favorite being a muffalatto sandwich.

Great food, friendly staff, reasonably priced the only complaint I would have is that they allow smoking in there but since this is a bar I guess that's to be expected other than that I really enjoyed my meal there.
