Small Bistro, staff was friendly. Sandwiches were good, had the "Pilgrim". Kids ate off the kid menu, one liked one didn't, that was expected. Little pricey, so really wasn't moved one way or the other. I'm sure if just me and the wife went experience would have been different.

The food was good. We were the only patrons, were waited on & received our water as requested. My coffee was presented as I finished my last bite of my lunch which I refused as I was prepared to leave. We asked for a "to go" for our leftover soup and apparently because of the excessive volume of the music... More

The Bistro offers a real dining experience - a little pricey but worth it.  A peacefully eclectic blend of music, food and desserts. Don't leave without one of their special bakery goodies!

Austin Street Bistro was a recommendation made by Phyllis at the Excelsior House Hotel. She said if we wanted a great meal we should try Austin Street. If it is possible, Austin Street exceeded even Phyllis's recommendation. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere is quaint and welcoming. All the breads at this bistro are made daily onsite and the... More

Austin Street Bistro provided fresh, unique food at a somewhat value priced. My salad contained not just lettuce, but fresh cubed cucumber, tomatoes, and other cubed veggies. The homemade dressing was think with fresh herbs. My Mardi Gras sandwich contained both thick pile of meat and sweet pickles. Spicy mustard is also served. My server was polite and respectful. However,... More

We stopped in for lunch and ordered sandwiches with grilled potatoes. I had the pilgrim and my husband had the egg salad sandwich. Both were very good and the fresh baked oatmeal molasses roll was a delicious surprise. The lagniappe bite sized sweet at the end was a very nice touch.

Just chose Austin Street Bistro at random for a quick lunch. Great sandwiches and service. Reasonably priced. Full menu is available. Will be back to try dinner when we are in Jefferson again.

The molasses bread served with the salad course is one of the best things you'll ever put in your mouth. The Smothered Pork Chop & "Rooster Skin" dishes were off the chart!

After a busy day of sightseeing and walking this was a pleasant evening with great food and pleasant conversation. The bistro was quiet enough for easy conversation which is most often not the case. Great and friendly service and excellent, healthy food. I recommend this if you are ready for a quiet interlude after a busy day of sightseeing.
