We are locals and love this place!! My husband and I are both well traveled and recently moved to Texas. Every Mexican restaurant is different and this one is one of our favorite!! It is very Tex-Mex so if you don’t want your dish smothered...make sure you ask for everything on the side. With the current situation of 2020 (bleeding into 2021) we get ours to go. Sometimes you wait a minute but it’s always fresh and delicious! We are always treated well and will continue to eat here.More

This restaurant has been going downhill for over a year. The food quality, taste and service is no longer worth the value paid for the meals. My wife and I tried to stay local but now would rather drive 10 miles to a better restaurant...than eat here.More

While visiting family, we wanted a good meal but wanted to take it to go. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly hostess. We asked for a take out menu and were told we could choose anything from their very large in house...menu. We ordered. While waiting you could see how lovely the restaurant was to sit and eat. It is beautifully decorated and even has an outside patio. Our order was brought out to us about 10-15 minutes after we ordered. Our food was brought out to us with a friendly smile. When we got the food home, we could not believe how large the portions were! I personally ordered the appetizer chicken enchilada quesadilla. It came with tortilla chips and salsa, guacamole, pico, and sour cream. The quesadilla itself was a huge portion. It could easily feed two adults. I cannot wait to visit again!More

We stopped there for lunch. The place is very cute with a nice patio and bar area but..... the waitress took our drink order. Seven minutes later my husband went inside to see why we still had no water. We ordered the Guadalajara plate asking...for charro beans and not refried. When the food arrived we got refried beans and no charros. The waitress did not appear to have full capability to speak in English but she was able to get our brand corrected. The food was very greasy and poorly seasoned. We commented that the restaurant would never last if it was in a larger city and not a tiny area One other couple ate on the patio with us. They ordered margaritas on the rocks and were served frozen mango drinks. They debated leaving after their appetizer came stating they could drive further and stop somewhere else. When we got out check it was wrong we were charged for two drinks when we had water. Ten minutes later the waitress returned with our check and said they had trouble because our card processed both the correct and wrong amounts. We insisted on getting a correct, voided receipt when we found out we were charged twice.... using fewer words... don't waste your money, food or time eating there.More

Terrible !! So disappointed. Took the family here on Saturday for a early Mother's day lunch since some had to work in Sunday. Having been here before and just 2 weeks ago looking forward to it. Service was terrible! Food was wrong. Missing items. Kids...ordered chicken strips got nuggets. Server was nowhere. Had to keep getting up and asking for help. Should have just said keep it and gone to McDonald's. All have off days but everything was off!!!More

I had the fajita chicken quesadillas and Dwight had the fajita beef and they were delicious. Large portions too. The service was fast and friendly. When traveling south on 35W, that is our stop for Mexican food.

We ate at Mexicano recently, and it was excellent! The food and service were first rate, and we couldn’t even finish our food. We will go back again soon.

The quality of food, selection and service are all decreasing since the management changes of a year ago. The food is still eatable but don't be surprised if your disappointed in the flavor and quality. Service has gone down hill dramatically as the staff seems...to know nothing of food service and table cleaning. We have discontinued the regular visits to this establishment due to food quality and the later toilet experiences at home.More

We met a friend here for a late dinner. Even at 8 pm the restaurant had quite a few people for a Monday night. We ordered drinks (don't order the mojito, it was ok but not great, go with a margarita) and the Guacamole Live...(prepared at your table). We also ordered entrees at the same time. We were hoping the guacamole would have come out a bit sooner than the entrees, and it did but not a lot sooner. Our waiter was Javier and his English wasn't that great so he had to get some help from another staff member on the drink orders. I think what our friend ordered was a bit more complicated (at least with the question) and he didn't quite understand. But kudos to him for getting assistance. However, we asked multiple times for more salsa (who gives 1 small bowl for 3 people?!). He also seemed to disappear once we had our food. We wanted more water and finally flagged someone else down to provide refills. We had to flag him down to get our check too. Food - I had the chicken quesadilla, husband had the enchiladas verde and our friend had the shrimp enchiladas. My husband didn't specify beef enchilads but the waiter also didn't ask if he wanted beef or chicken or whatever. I don't remember the menu but assume that you had a choice and it wasn't just chicken. Overall the food was delicious but the service was just ok. It was also very hot where we were sitting. Not sure why.More

Touched it on google maps just random. Just spent a week in Austin - Mexican no less than 6 meals. This place beat the all including Pappasitos Cantina. Even the rice & beans had me tempted to lick my plate. Excellent.
