Great food and awesome service. Huge portions made fresh and delicious! Highly recommend this little almost hole in the wall. Asked about delivery as we dined in and they said they deliver a 6 mile radius. Will try that soon

This is best Chinese food in Irving. Lunch specials 11 to 3. And owner and staff are so friendly. Soda selections is very limited though. Oh, by the way specials continues on weekend. Very casual with booths and tables. Very extensive menu.

We discovered Empress of China (Valley Ranch) a few years ago when we were desperate for New Year's Day Chinese takeout and EVERY other restaurant was closed! Great discovery, never ordered from another since. Their hot & sour soup and veggie spring rolls are the best. Especially love the Mongolian beef and Orange chicken. Our teen loves the kids sweet & sour chicken--b/c it's actually great tempura fried chicken bites with sauce on the side--so he likes just the plain chicken. Reasonably priced, nicest delivery guy ever, and great food: WIN!

There was a time when this was a good place to eat but not anymore. Cold food, poor service and a bad attitude have ruined them.

We used to enjoy carry out from here, it was one of the best in the area. Until I created an order online for pick up at 5:30pm and the kitchen prepared the food immediately. I received a text that my order was ready 10 minutes after placing it. I called and advised that they will have to remake the food because I would not be there until 5:30 and I wanted fresh, hot food for my family. When I arrived at the restaurant at 5:23, my order was prepared and waiting. I confirmed that the food was fresh and not sitting there for 45 minutes and they promised me the food was made fresh. The lady tried to tell me that I ordered it for 5:30AM and it was my fault. Although my email confirmation clearly reflects pick up at 5:30PM. Even if I attempted to enter the time for 5:30AM the website would not allow me to enter a pick up time for a) time already past, and b) time when the restaurant is not open. When I got home, the food was luke warm and the breading was soggy. Gross! I also ordered General Tso's chicken mild and there were 7 hot peppers cooked into the food. When I called Empress and advised they lied to me about the food being fresh AND gave me spicy General Tso's they didn't really apologize. They said "sorry you didn't like it." Who would like to give their family food that has been sitting out for 45 minutes? The truth is they are too cheap to remake the food and assumed the white American would just accept the carryout as they gave it. They lie and refuse to accept responsibility for selling old food. Order at your own risk.

I was so excited to go there for lunch today as it has been awhile. It used to be one of my favorite places. I get back to work with my lunch open the box and it smelled horrible. I tried it even though it looked different than normal and I'm so sorry I did. I called to complain and they have changed owners apparently and the food is awful. I will never go back

I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken n brocoli. The chicken in the chicken n brocoli was tough and dry hardly any sauce. Very disappointed. Cost me $20 for the 2 dishes and that didn't include tip!

Been searching for a decent chinese place, this fails again. I usually take recommendations, offering the restaurant to put their best options. Was told among other items that the Lo Mein, made with brown sauce was good. So tried a chicken lo mien, take away. What I see in Chinese restaurants is they offer options to change aspects of dish; spice level. So one never knows how the dish is meant to be. I consciously avoid doing that. And this dish fails terribly. Dry & lacking flavor. Might give it another try, one of their entrees/curries before fully dismissing this place. But the current rating (34/479) here in tripadvisor is definitely misleading. Hence the title of the review.

This place is really good.. My bf got veggie lo mein spicy and it was very much so but delicious. I got the minced chicken tacos which is code word for lettuce wraps.. The chicken had a very savory flavor and slices of green onion throughout. A rich teriyaki style sauce is served along side. A very decent helping and I ate it all. We also had a couple of their veggie spring rolls which were crispy, really greasy, and extremely tasty. Everything was good..

I took some co-workers from out of town to Empress and we all enjoyed lunch. I have enjoyed this site and their original site for many years (the original site has been around for 30 years).

Stopped here on a long day out and was surprised how wonderful this place is. We were greeted with very friendly smiles. The waiter was so nice and our food was prepared really quick. I had pad tai and it was the best I have ever eaten. The place made us feel just like family.

Great food and very friendly service. Their hot tea is our favorite. This is a nice family restaurant and very quiet so talking and visiting is very easy. We eat here often.

I have been eating at Empress of China for over 12 years. I love it!!!!!. The food is fresh, delicious, high quality and consistently good. They use big pieces of white meat chicken. The restaurant is in a small strip center behind some trees but well worth looking for. The inside of the restaurant is small but nice. The staff is always professional and very helpful. You can eat there, pick up or get delivery. Everything I have tried on the menu is good. My favorite dishes are Moo Goo Gai Pan and Hot & Sour soup. I often take guests to the restaurant. I moved to Georgia for a few years and when I moved back my Mom and sister (from Houston) wanted to know if I was moving back by "that yummy Chinese place" I moved a few miles from the restaurant and enjoy it often.

I love this place and am so happy my neighbor turned me on to it. It is tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall and a little hard to see but Oh my gosh is it ever delicious! the food is always fresh and prepared without too much fat. The staff is friendly and the service is very good. They will prepare anything the way you want it. Love the eggplant dish and everything on the menu.

The service is Great! very friendly people. I love the shrimp fried rice it just has a great taste not like other places I've tried. I would drive to Dallas just to take my family some they love it! not use to the small amount and it is a little pricey but for the best you pay a little more so I expect that.....:)
