Called in order to go. Got home and 1 entree was missing. Enchilada plate was very poor quality with little topping. Salsa and pico de gallo both tasted very strange. Had stomach issues after this meal. Do not recommend.
OMG!!! So much for bragging about these tacos !heard people saying that they’re great .....well my experience with my first time there and the flour tortilla had too much flour that made them hard! Mexican chorizo wias spoiled and We threw up , we got...really sick !!!I will never ever go there AGAIN!!!GROSS AND NEVER AGAIN!! NO STAR RATING !!More
Decor is lovely - dining room is clean and pleasant, nice screened in outside dining. This is an order at the counter take a number restaurant and our first visit. Menu is very reasonably priced my chicken taco was only two bucks (see pic) it...was mostly fresh but chicken had zero flavor and was chewy. Tortilla was very chewy not in a good way. It took three trips back to the counter to get the drinks we were supposed to get when we ordered - three trips you’re probably wondering - one for waters then back for his Mexican coke then he had to go back to have it opened - not a good omen. No salt pepper on tables - had to scavenge other tables for salsa. On the good side my hubby had chilaquiles plate and he enjoyed it very much - the potatoes were yummy eggs were perfectly cooked. I think most of the problems we experienced were just inexperienced staff - we will try again.More
Stick with the tacos.
Took my mom here for lunch one day to try something new. I ordered the enchilada plate and two different breakfast tacos to get a sampling. Mom did the same.
Each plate alone was over $8 and the enchiladas were smaller...than the frozen taquitos you buy in bulk from the frozen food section. Super disappointed in both the small amount of food and the taste. Only other complaint is you buy your drinks from a cooler in can or bottle form (no refills).
People always say judge a Mexican Food Restaurant by its enchiladas, this is not a Mexican Food Restaurant, it is a taco place.
That being said, the breakfast tacos were outstanding and not crazy expensive. I would go back for the breakfast tacos.
Moral of the story, don't order enchiladas at a taco joint.More
I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I have heard so much about how good their food is, so we stopped by there for lunch today.
First of all it is a decent looking place with friendly people working there.
The...restaurant appeared to be neat and clean and was comfortable, which is saying a lot today due to our 105 heat index we are experiencing.
As far as the dining experience, it was different than I expected. You order at their counter and they give you a number and bring your food to the table. So not being familiar with their menu we sat down and read through it then went back up to the counter and ordered, which was fine.
No ice tea! Strike one! They have bottled or cans of drinks including "ice tea"! My choices for ice tea were lemon or strawberry! I chose lemon, which if you have had bottled lemon ice tea before it pretty much was a weak lemonade. Not much tea flavor. If you are in the South or in Texas you better have a fiddle in the band and you better have brewed iced tea. Now for the food. Chips and salsa first. The chips were stale but the salsa was not bad. It had a nice kick of heat but needed a little salt and for my taste a little cilantro.
I ordered beef enchiladas which came with rice, refried beans and lettuce and chopped tomatoes. The enchiladas were pretty good! They had great flavor, good sauce and cheese. There were 3 on the plate and I ate them all. One of my pet peeves about some enchiladas are the thick, thick, thick tortillas they come with and not much sauce at some restaurants.
These enchiladas had good tortillas, not too big, not too small, great cheese and sauce and if I had to criticize anything I would say they needed a little more sauce. The refried beans were also good and the rice was average.
My wife ordered the picadillo which is a taco with beef and potatoes. She said it had good flavor but the amount of potatoes it had on it kind of washed out the good flavors present. The tacos came with two sauces, a green sauce and red sauce. The green sauce was good but needed salt. The red sauce was outstanding! It had great flavor and a little bit of a kick on the end!
This would not be a place to go have a margarita and a few tacos because they don't have margaritas or any other adult beverages.
All and all the meals were good, the prices reasonable and atmosphere was good.
They seem to be famous for their breakfast tacos so I will return to try them also.More
Happy they have reopened after a long absence due to remodeling of restaurant.
It is good to note that the food has not missed a beat. Same great home made tortillas and taco fillers that have this a staple of the community. 👍🏼👍🏼 but keeping...the coffee pot full is a weakness,More
I don't know where the reviewer ate that was so expensive but it wasn't Tacos Flores. This place has regularly fed my family of four for under $30. Their menu is online check for yourself. If you want authentic Mexican food this is it. I've...watched this place grow from a small trailer to a shed to a small restaurant and now a large restaurant. If it were terrible or overpriced this would be unlikely. The lines are long for breakfast so order ahead. There is regularly a line of people waiting to order. Their food is delicious.More
