Met some friends for lunch and to my surprise what a great time and even better food!!! The atmosphere is jovial and welcoming at this little hidden gem. Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of this spot, once you enter you will be quite happy with your visit. Let's start with the cocktails....DIVINE!! These margaritas come in several tasty... Now I have had my share of fajitas in town and let me say these are hands down , the best! Their Margaritas are amazing and good luck finishing two! That's a challenge! Their Bellinis are great!!!! They are frozen with sangria, vodka, AND champagne! One will do the trick! I brought my friend from New York and even he... More

In town for business we left our hotel is search of dinner. We feasted on barbecue for lunch so we opted for a TexMex meal. Our "tour guide" a local brought us to El Tiempo and we were glad he did. The menu was full of options which typified the true meaning of the TexMex cuisine. Be forewarned, the offerings... More

The El Tiempo Cantina on Montrose is on our rotation of favorite restaurants for good reason. The food tastes great, the servings are generous, the servers are attentive and the margaritas are fabulous. My favorite dish is the Pechuga Tropical which is lightly breaded chicken pieces with pineapple and mango over a bead of rice with some hot pepper flakes... More

This restaurant is actually at 1308 Montrose Boulevard - not sure why the Corporate Offices are part of the listing above. This was my first visit to El Tiempo. A family friend had recommended it. It was great. Old-School at its best! This location looks a little sketchy from the outside, and the inside is pretty dated, but the food... More

Always make a stop at 1308 Cantina when I am in Houston. Always crowded, and for good reason, don't let the crowd scare you off, they can usually accommodate you at a table soon enough, between the indoor and patio seating. Enjoy a range of margaritas in the bar while you wait, and you will not notice the wait. Every... More

When you walk in you can smell the smoker operating, so you know it's the real deal. Had brisket burrito and it was delicious! Rice as a side is tasty. There are warm chips delivered to your table with two awesome sauces. The salsa is perfectly spicy and the light sauce is so different! It has a little kick with... More

As they say, you eat with your eyes and this visit was disappointing. I was dining with a friend and he requested hard tacos without tomatoes. There were tomatoes on his plate. I ordered the Flautas Mixtas. The presentation was awful and they were bland. The only good thing about this visit was the GRAND Gold Margarita.

This was a great experience from the time we walked into the building. The layout and deco is upscale Mexican, complete with authentic music playing (somewhat too loud) and waitstaff who are GOOD at their jobs. The menu covers the entire spectrum, but don't expect any $5.99 combo meals on this menu. The servings are generous, so careful how much... More

Better than the competitors around this place has great fajitas and they serve good drinks, it could get sometimes crowded during the weekends starting on Thursdays but it is worth to visit, prices are average for Houston and staff is mostly friendly all the time, parking could be challenging sometimes depending how crowded it is., gets A++
