At first glance, Marini’s has the look-and-feel of a fast food joint. You stand in line, order, pay bargain basement prices, grab some red or green salsa in tiny plastic containers at the condiment counter, eat and go. Don’t let that fool you. We had several different types. Everything was good. The prices are very reasonable. I love the fig/cheese dessert empanada best.

I have had empanadas in others countries and these are the best tasting that I have eaten. I especially liked the Beef Gaucho, Tia Maria and the Chicken la Queen. Two or three empanadas make a great lunch.

I usually don't like to eat fried foods but the empanadas here are delicious. I really enjoy their dulce de leche (miniatures) that way I can eat 2 small ones without feeling too guilty. Also the chicken with queso and delicious. It's a family restaurant so everyone is kind and helpful. Love it!!

Was taken to this place on my last day in Houston. Great empanadas. This has all the feel of a family run business - Papa was sitting inside holding court. Great atmosphere and sitting outside in the sun people watching was a great end to my trip. Will come back here again next trip. Food was really good, and the... More

I can hear you ask -- 5 stars for an empanadas place, really? Yes, really. Quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. These are some great empanadas.

There are a wide array of options on the menu, but all of the empanadas are under $3, so my boyfriend and I tried 10 of them (7 for him, 3 for me) and a dessert empanada. The cashier helped us with our order, and we were impressed with all 11 of her empanada suggestions! They were served to us... More

This place is packed for dinner! The empanadas, both savory & dessert are delicious!! San Gria was decent, not great. Go hungry & try different ones.
