I finally got to go to the bakery, now that it is not impossible to get in lol. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday, the double chocolate. I went to pick it up, and I was excited to see other little treats that have to offer. Everything looked so good, especially the chocolate chip cookies, even though I was fasting, I was able to resist temptation, after we had a amazing cake to look forward to. I will need to return for those cookies, and the menu looks so delicious, I want to try everything, As for our cake, you can really tell the difference when quality ingredients are used. It was so good, it tasted like a hostess cupcake.

This is one of my favorite go to spots from breakfast, lunch, or a meeting with clients. Their Chai tea is top of the line. I love their avocado toast for breakfast, and their turkey club on sourdough for lunch. Their desserts and cinnamon buns are made fresh daily. I could find something good to eat here everyday at any time. Check this place out!

The Apple coffee cake had burnt apples on it. The Hibiscus and chamomile teas were really good.
The people serving were terrific. I forgot my credit card and a very kind young lady brought it to me. Those serving were cheerful and kind.

ordered the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense not light and fluffy like I would expect from a bakery. The gravy tasted sour or vinegary. Very disappointed. The general manager was no help. She offered me a gift card after her manager gave me the run around and now I can't get a refund. She offered me a gift card, but why would I want a gift card to a place that can't make a biscuits and gravy.

Stopped in - for baked goods - while out. Masks were required, husband and I readily geared up at the door. Couple people eating, but otherwise empty. Been coming here several years....never had terrible customer service until today. There were many employees behind the counter, but the young woman who helped us was rude. She acted super put out by us deciding what we wanted. Rolled her eyes when I turned and asked my husband about an item. Seemed irritated that I said all items could go in the same box, as if I had broken some bakery rule. We want to spend our money at local businesses and support them in this economy. Everyone is suffering right now, and I was surprised to be treated as if my business didn't matter. I was so rushed I didn't even look at the second case of pastries or the bread, even though I was willing to purchase more. We then got home only to find that the quality had gone down a bit. The scone didn't have the right consistency of a scone...it was more like a cake. Same with the nutella croissant....the consistency was not right - too thick, not flaky at all. We will go back; everyone has an off day. But I was surprised, since they normally do much better.

This is a very nice bakery and coffee shop. We went for breakfast and had the Kouign Amann (sort of a croissant dough with a light caramel glaze) and a plain croissant. I had a plain, brewed coffee. Both pastries were very good, but might have been a little better had they been warmed a little. That wasn’t offered, which brings me to my second point. If you are going to place out a tip jar and expect tips when I’m basically doing all the work (ordering, paying over $5 for breakfast items, taking my order to the table, bussing my own table), how about going a little above and beyond in the service department? A friendly greeting in something other than a monotone voice, acting like you appreciate my business, offering to heat my breakfast items, remembering I asked for cream so I don’t have to ask for it again, etc. I’m never sure what I’m tipping for when service is robotic.

Came in for a coffee to go but decided to stay for breakfast. Looked at the monitors above the counter with the breakfast menu but the time was 1108 and they said had changed to the lunch menu (even though the breakfast menu was on the monitor) and we weren’t allowed to order. Pretty lame service, as we had just settled our baby in a baby chair and my boyfriend started giving her some food - and as mentioned, they hadn’t changed the menu on their screens. But coffee was good.

This place is a joke. The employees don't even know what is a Napoleon or Mille Feuilles, which is the most popular pastry in France. And they have sell "French" pastry, mind you ! Inside, you cannot tell where you are. There are almost no variety or pastry to be seen, I had to ask them if it is like that every day, they yes. They have maybe 7 different pastries some very ugly cakes . The place does not smell nor feel like an eatery. it is a disaster. And by the way, nothing tastes good. Is it a scam, a joke or just the destination of pure mediocrity. Never will go back. thank yo8u.

Visited the bistro part of this place (couldn’t find the restaurant bit). As a coeliac it can be difficult to find gluten free options, I had seen on their website they had some items to choose from but when we arrived it was just what was on the board. I was limited to the corn chowder soup which was nice but a shame they didn’t have any gluten free bread to eat with the soup. Nice place and it was busy for a Sunday evening, just a shame it didn’t have ,loads of gluten free choice.

Ordered Hibiscus Tea, OJ, & Lemonade. Loved the Hibiscus Tea! Tasted like I was drinking flowers; it was amazing. Had a punch to it that it woke me up. The macaroons were soft & upside down croissant was crunchy from being caramelized.

We only had a few minutes for a quick bite before an appointment and this bakery was the perfect stop. I had a chai latte and avocado toast and my husband had the soft scramble. Our other guests had the chocolate croissant and a muffin with coffees. It was very busy but everything was prepared timely. Highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch!

My visit to Common Bond Café & Bakery in Houston was a delightful culinary journey into the world of artisanal pastries and gourmet coffee. The café’s ambiance, with its chic and welcoming design, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu featured a selection of freshly baked bread, pastries, and breakfast dishes, each prepared with impeccable attention to detail. Sipping a cappuccino while savoring a flaky croissant was a heavenly experience. The café’s commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients was evident in every bite. Whether you’re starting your day with breakfast or indulging in an afternoon treat, Common Bond Café & Bakery is a must-visit for a taste of Houston’s artisanal culinary culture and a journey into gourmet delight.

Nice decor, great chai and the best BLT I’ve ever had (Texas Club) a fresh and fruity lavender mimosa. Service is super friendly and location is great.
