Pecan Pie is apparently the 'State Dessert' of Texas! We had some relatives visiting from Seattle and so I found this pie shop online and I'm glad I did. We got a Pecan and a Key Lime and they were absolutely fantastic especially with a scoop of Bluebell ice cream! It's quite a drive for us to get to the... More

No trip to the BBQ Inn just up the street, (see my review), is complete without a few slices, pecan for me and seasonal blueberry or strawberry for the wifeacita. There are always lines down the street for Thanksgiving and spots on the local TV news.

Someone put a photo of fried chicken and fries??? This is a whole pie to go only, "like in take away" place at least it was in December. Their key lime pie is great, I used to go and pick up Lemon icebox pie for my dad a least every other month, he loved it. I have never had a... More

In the past three months, I've had 3 pies from Flying Saucer. And they all have been very different...our first pie was a strawberry cream pie and it was one of the best pies we've ever had. We couldn't wait to go back but I wish we had stuck with the strawberry cream...next time out, we took home a chocolate... More

Great food, great service. Definitely worth the trip if you're in Houston (The Heights) area. The fried chicken takes 25 min. to make, but definitely worth it.

Great little place to get fresh, homemade pies. Traditional and seasonal. They are delicious, and they sell whole pies as well as by the piece.

I don't know if it's me or them, but something has changed. We have been going for years and getting coconut cream pies which we eagerly scarfed down. Not this time. It used to be that it was hard to quit eating the pie, but that was not a problem and we ended up tossing some of the pie after... More

Only my grandpa made better homestyle pies. We said we wouldn't stand in line for Thanksgiving pies again this year, but everyone in the family wanted their pies, so we stood outside for an hour in near freezing temps and everyone was happy with the pumpkin, chocolate, cherry, peach and pecan pies. *licks lips*

I was given a pecan pie and a coconut cream pie as a gift from this pie company. Grant it, Flying Saucer has earned quite a name for itself over the many years it has been in business. However, I have never been so disappointed in a pie in all my life. If I had purchased these pies myself, I... More
