Went for lunch with business associate. Lunch buffet looked nice & clean. The Chicken Tikka Masala was so so as well as Tandoori Chicken. Need more flavor. Service was excellent and prompt.

The only reason I did not give it an overall "Best" rating was because it was so warm inside the restaurant. We changed tables to sit under a fan but when it is 100 degrees outside we want A/C inside!!!! The food was great as always with chicken and lamb dishes. The basmati rice and Naan are both killer! Go... More

The service was good. The owner was nice and polite. The food - egh. It was ok. I felt like it was watered down or something. I wanted the veggies to be in season as described and I just wanted more flavor.

When we arrived, the air was absolutely clean inside. Good, yes, but the air in Indian restaurants is usually redolent with spices. Mystery solved when the food arrived. It tasted as though nothing had simmered long enough to create those deep and , well, reliable layers one associates with well seasoned and cooked Indian food. The saag paneer lacked depth... More

We have eaten here many times and had everything on the menu. Cozy, somewhat old feel to the place. It is all good.

Visited with family and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Seeing many Asian families dining there confirms that this restaurant has been doing it right for over 20 years .Food delicious, service smart, portions ample and prices reasonable. No hesitation in recommending Shiva.

Consistently good Indian cuisine. Their standards like chicken tandoori are among the best in the city. Small, intimate dining room where you can actually carry on a conversation.

We had a group of ten, and most shared individual dishes from the menu. I particularly like the Rani platter.

One of the best Indian food restaurants in Houston. The lunch buffet is the what I really prefer about Shiva's. Daytime, it's really nice and not far from Rice University. For evening dining I find it to feel a bit dark and dreary. Parking is also a real issue in the evening. Go there for lunch.

The ABSOLUTE WORST "INDIAN" FOOD & RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I have been enjoying indian food around Houston, Austin, New Mexico, Arizona & California for 35 YEARS. This Shiva Restaurant in Rice Village, Houston, Tx was the WORST experience i have ever had in any restaurant. Firstly, the lunch buffet had about 30% of the number of selected... More
