We try to eat hear every time we are in Houston. They have great old fashioned chili, cheese and onion enchiladas. Margaritas are exceptional. The small guacamole is like a large anywhere else. An unusual but great dish on the menu is fried chicken. Nice service with parking across the street. Don't let the appearance fool you, Spanish Village is... More

You have to buy food to get one, but the food is good, the margaritas are great, and the ambience is unbeatable. Get the frozen, even if you usually get rocks. It's one of the oldest restaurants in town. It's completely traditional Tex-mex. The carnitas are incredible, the tamales are fluffy, and the salsa has a solid bite. It's been... More

The owner was very rude. He seemed to single my friend and I out. If I could file a discrimination lawsuit I would. Trust me he does not want African Americans at his business so save your money and go to a taco stand! This place is nasty and overpriced. I will never return

My family, friends and I have eaten here since the 1960's at this Spanish restaurant that also sells Mexican food. The food is tasty, the atmosphere homey, the family owners kind and friendly (the check says "See you next week"), the owner brother/sister team remember repeat visitors and treat older customers with respect and attention. Birthday celebrants might get their... More

There's something very appealing to me about a Tex-Mex joint that makes no excuses and doesn't try to be anything else. I had heard of Spanish Village for years but it's located in an area of town where I don't generally go, so I've never made a special trip to try it out until today.....in Houston you can just about... I was there last night with a friend and we were meeting for a drink. Neither of us were really hungry. We ordered our first drink, a margarita, and the waitress came back and asked us if we were ready order, so we said we needed a few more minutes. a few moments later an old lady came by and... More

We tried cheese enchiladas and pork tamales. Served really hot and yummy. The tilapia was mist and the onions on the fajitas blackened. It's a family place, friendly and relaxed.

Spanish Village isn't sleek and pretty, but it is real, authentic Tex Mex food. If all you know about Mexican food is fajitas and spinach enchiladas, this probably isn't the place for you (and you probably didn't grow up in Texas). I am a native of South Texas and Spanish Village is what I grew up eating - crispy tacos... More

I have been going to Spanish Village for 15 years, it is authentic old fashion TexMex. Sizzling Fajitas are tasty, cheese enchiladas with real cheese, chalupa a la Bales with their fabulous guacamole in 7 combination. No their hot sauce isn't tomato sauce based, go to New York for that, it is border town style. And yes the margaritas are... More
