I thought I was taking a gamble ordering steak and eggs when I should have been ordering breakfast tacos. So glad I did, The steak was a good size and super tender and a true medium temp. I ordered the eggs as huevos rancheros. This is now my favorite breakfast. TIP - Ask for the pickled jalapenos.

My family picked Taqueria Del Sol because of their authentic taco fillings. We were not disappointed. They have lengua, cactus and all the traditional meats. We also tried menudo soup (tripa). It was so yummy! The meat was tasty but the broth was amazing! We spoke to the owner (3rd generation). The business has been there for 35 years! It... More

Had an hour to kill on the side of Houston and looked up a good Mexican restaurant. This one popped up on Trip advisor visor and I was only a block away. Trip advisor got it right. This place was awesome. Reminded me much like me mi Tierra in San Antonio. I will be back and bring the rest of... More

While not in the most brightly lit area of town, this gem is worth the time. It is great, authentic Mexican food offering a wide variety of meats including steak, chicken, pork, lengua, nopalitos and more! No Spanish language knowledge necessary, though that's definitely the staff's and guests' first language. The panaderia (bakery) next door offers authentic Mexican pastries as... More

I have years coming to Taqueria del Sol and l love this place. My husband says that this is his favorite restaurant and he loves it so much he doesn't care if we have to drive a couple hours to eat here. The food is always great and the prices are very good. This place is always busy but we... More

I had been to the Taqueria Del Sol in years past and had a memory of fairly decent food, but this outing was such a disappointment. The meat servings of tacos de carne asada and fajitas were ample, but everything else was skimpy--bean tostada with barely any beans and very little cheese and a heap of shredded lettuce that tasted... Great little place in South Houston. Large portions, cheap prices. The torta was excellent. The atmosphere was nothing special but the food was good.

Our family eats a lot of different Mexican food and this place was a pleasant surprise to find on a recent business trip. My colleague and I had the very best Gorditos (hand made soft corn version) and Breakfast tacos. With such reasonable prices we tried several versions- including the potato and egg, chorizo and egg, asada steak and egg,... More

We drive all the way from The Woodlands to eat here...it is that good!!! You can really measure the quality of a Mexican restaurant by their tacos al pastor. One word: amazing!! Everything is superb here. Worth the drive from anywhere.
