The food was good. The prices are high for breakfast. You wait outside on a line which took us about a half hour, but once you are inside, your food comes within 5 minutes. Had the special, 2eggs, 3 strips bacon, potatoes and toast. Eggs were good, done right, bacon was crispy, potatoes are food service bought and we're just... More

After all the amazing reviews (on Yelp it's one of the highest rated places in Houston), I decided to give it a try... had to wait over an hour in line outside in the extreme humid Houston heat in summer, and after all the wait, I tried their supposed landmark dish, chicken and waffles. It was greasy, with excessive amount... More

What else can you say about a good home-cooked meal? This was so good and we were so glad we got there before the rush and only had to wait in line maybe 5-10 minutes. I had the Chicken and Waffles and my wife had an omelet. Both were REALLY good!! EXCEPTIONAL FOOD-if you want a great meal give The... More

We stumbled across this place last year and had to try it again, and I have to say it is my favorite breakfast place. It is a little expensive but the portions are large, the service is great and the food is even better! Just one tip get there early. We got there thirty minutes before they opened and there... More

After a 5K run early in the morning, my brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew went to this place for breakfast. Because it was a holiday, the lines were much shorter than usual. Got the Wings and Waffle. The wings were delicious. They aren't hot wings, simply fried chicken wings. Service was very friendly, and they got the food out to... More

Prices was pretty steep close to Morton's or a high and restaraunt, however I enjoyed the fish grits with eggs. However the old lady hated the wings and waffles.

My hubs and I had a great experience here. We didn't wait long to be seated. We waited less than 2 minutes for our food and yes it was piping hot (catfish and grits breakfast for him/chicken and waffle for myself).....DELICIOUS !! The service/hospitality was impressive and we can't wait to go back.

I absolutely love the fish and grits at this restaurant. The fish was cooked perfectly, not too crispy, and not under cooked. The grits were fluffy, seasoned correctly with a little cheese. Normally I can tell when people cook grits and don't salt the water and this place did very good! I always bring people here that come in to... More

I live in the neighborhood and wanted a Friday seafood lunch. I walked in and the place notorious for lines had none. I reviewed the menu and as I was approaching the counter I saw the display plate of the Seafood Pasta. It looked enticing for this Louisiana girl: fettuccine noodles enrobed in a tomato cream sauce with chopped seasonings... More

If you've driven by you know that the line for the historic restaurant always seems to stretch around the block. Well it's absolutely deserve and don't worry, the line goes pretty quick. Inside the food is incredible and decent prices. The coffee is high quality as well and service is top notch.
