I love this place! It's been several years since I've eaten here, but it is so good. We went last night before heading to a comedy club. Service was spot on and friendly. The food was delicious and as good as I remembered. It is...near the place where I used to work, so not as convenient anymore. We will go back because it is worth the extra drive time. We just beed to bring our Pho loving friends so they can enjoy this also.More

Located toward the back of a small strip mall just outside a rather industrial part of town, the only positive first impression was the large number of cars in front. Once inside the magic began. Our order was quickly taken and the appetizers arrived immediately....The tapioca wrapped seafood bites were unusual and good. The spring rolls were exceptional in flavor and freshness. The peanut sauce was warmed which was interesting. On Fridays Pho is $5! My husband ordered the pho with 'everything' in it and pronounced it good with a deeply flavorful broth. My vermicelli bowl's pork was unusually good. The waiter said they have a special marinade and it truly made a difference. Great first experience. We hope to return!More

This is my go to place to eat with my family on Fridays for their 5 dollar Pho! I've had other items on their menu and it's all very delicious at a decent price!

I have eaten lots of Pho in Houston over the years. Kim Chau was exactly what I was expecting after driving by several times. Prices were very reasonable, service was prompt, and the food was pretty fresh. I tried one of the vermicelli dishes, and...from the sound of it I missed out on really good Bun Bo Hue which is what one of my colleagues ordered.More

I used to work not far away, so I could come on my lunch break and satisfy my craving. It's located in not so-stellar part of Houston, in unassuming strip mall. However, my best Bun Bo Hue in Houston to date. Especially if you'd like...to eat it with everything in it (blood cake, pork knuckle and such). The broth is my favorite part, very tasty, rich, dark and satisfying, not too greasy. It was accompanied by mixed of sliced cabbage, cilantro and other herbs and slice of lime. Dump everything to the bowl and squeeze some lime juice, then enjoy. I see myself coming often during winter time. Service was always courteous. Though I look like Vietnamese, and most will speak Vietnamese to me unassumingly on their first encounter with me, I politely explained that I didn't understand. But I always get the order correct, and always get smiling faces to help me and I keep coming back. It was used to a 2nd location on Bellaire, across the street from Hongkong mall, but unfortunately that location was closed not too long ago.More

completely unassuming little joint in a run-down, easy to miss strip mall in Houston. We got there a half hour before closing (7 pm on a Saturday night.) Harsh lighting, no ambience. But who cares? Some of the best vietnamese food we've ever had -...we had different kinds of pho, vermicelli bowls, spring and summer rolls. Everything was aromatic and warming and subtle and delicious. Culinary highlight of the trip. Oh, and dirt cheap.More

I was there 2 weeks ago for BBH (bun bo hue) during lunch with a friend. As usual, it was really good. They renovated a few years ago, now the restaurant is clean & bright. The owner's son has really done a nice job plus...installed a credit card machine which is a plus. We ordered the large bowl of BBH along with cafe su da (iced Vietnamese coffee over condensed milk). The BBH has always been consistent at Kim Chua so I know exactly what to expect, a hearty bowl of central style beef & pork spicy noodle. Service was quick, food & drinks promptly came out. Restaurant was clean & bright. Food was really good and price was right. Another successful and filling visit to Kim Chua.More

The only way I can explain the dining exerience at Kim Chau is this... Imagine cooking the best bowl of soup you've ever made, it's perfect, just the right amount spice, great flavor, perfect! now take that big bowl of soup out to the back...yard, stick your head in Spot's DOG HOUSE, get a good whiff of that dog kennel, now.... Bon a Petite. Sorry, but thats the truth, it smells just like a dog kennel in this restaurant, Great Bun Bo Hue though! They say they are open until 8pm, but good luck finding them open past 6:15 All that being said, the Bun Bo Hue is very very good, If you like Bun Bo Hue, you gotta try this place.More

i live just 5 min from here ... it's good, but nothing to write home about. first, the meat is really tough and chewy (both pork and beef as well as the shank). the broth is good though. i'm actually from the region where this...soup is famous for (Hue in Viet Nam). in my opinion, the best bun bo hue is at Pho Nguyen on beechnut & wilcrest next to the subway sandwich store. yummy!More
