Try the queso flameado- it may clog your arteries but you will die happy. This is a raucous place to have a good Mexican meal at a good price. This is one of the more "local" Mexican joints where a músico is likely to serenade you while you are enjoying your dinner.

Very good Mexican food, had fajitas for lunch. Hot and fresh tortillas. Roasted tomato salsa, green sauce was good too.

Went here while on a trip to Houston after reading the reviews. This place was great. Don't be thrown off by the outside of the building.

Stopped here for lunch based on some decent reviews online, and we were in no way disappointed. I would eat here every single day if I could. The salsas were delicious, the chips were warm, the entrees were perfect. Not one single thing could have been better, actually. They even had a pretty good musician walking around the restaurant singing.... More

This is a hole in the wall restaurant that luckily some friends recommended. Simple decor and service but the food was absolutely sublime, from the delicately crisp sopapillas, to the complex collection of flavors meeting in the best fajita I have ever had; even the guacamole was out of this world. If you're in Houston you must try this restaurant.

I've been to this restaurant half a dozen times when visiting Houston over the last 10 years. It's one of my favorite Mexican restaurants outside of Mexico. I love the pork carnitas and giant margaritas. Service is friendly and efficient and the place can accommodate a large number of diners in various rooms and patios. I'm never disappointed.

Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican. Great food, inexpensive. Great service. I would not change a thing about this place!

My friend recommended this place and said that it was authentic Mexican food. She is Mexican so I knew her recommendation had to be good. I loved the food here-- I can't even begin to explain how good it is. The meat is good quality and cooked well and the best part was that I didn't feel gross or sick... More

We've been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfasts are huge and delicious. My favorite dish there in the evenings is there snapper with cilantro sauce....it is an enormous serving, and the sauce is A+. The place is not fancy, so if you are looking for "upscale" this restaurant is not for you. But overall, some of the best... More

There are 3 locations but the one on Irvington is the best! Pretty small but the food and service are great. I've been going to this place for years now and I'm never disappointed. Micheladas are good too!

Thank Becky E
