Known by generations for her hospitality, proprietress Elouise Adams Jones, a.k.a. Ouisie, serves an eclectic collection of Southern foods with an excellent wine list to match. High ceilings and fans in the main dining room it evoke the ambiance of a Texas manor house. The adjacent dining porch overlooking the patio and garden, as well as Cooper’s Wine Bin, provide additional dining and entertaining areas. The daily fare encompasses traditional offerings like her well-loved pimento cheese, the shrimp and grits, and the popular Gulf Coast oysters to the favorite Tuesday special Ouisie’s award winning chicken fried steak with corn pudding. A fine plate of grilled Prime beef tenderloin or a brace of quail stuffed with super lump crab meat with Cognac glaze are good examples of the daily specials one might find on the blackboard. Lunch and dinner daily, brunch on weekends.

Went for lunch with friends. Everything about this place is classy. Wooden floors, great bar, wall hangings, etc. The service was stupendous and the food was plentiful and delicious. We went for lunch and my friends had a 3 course meal for $20 as they extended Restaurant Week until end of Sept. I had a pimento cheese sandwich with bacon. Very good. Servers wear masks and gloves. Tables are more than 6 ft apart. Reservations are recommended. There is valet parking for $3.

They did not have close to enough staff to support the amount of patrons on a Saturday night. It took 2 hours to get our food and that was after we ordered and they came back twice to tell us they did not have anymore of what we ordered. Another unfortunate quality is the restaurant was extremely loud, let me emphasize extremely. It was the worst instance of loud restaurant I have ever experienced. The food was good but did not outweigh the negatives. We will not be going back. Poor service, extremely loud and obviously not ready to be open.

Ordered the meat balls was pretty good but needed more seasoning in the meat.... The red sause was good
The meat loaf was good. Has lots of flavor....
The chicken fried steak was huge.. The gravy was good...

So many times this place popped up in my search for a place to try and now I wish I hadn’t. Suggested it for a birthday dinner and I have to say none of us were impressed by the food. The steak came out overdone, the seafood crepes were heavily salted and our appetizers were just meh. Drinks were the best part of the evening - Jalapeño Margarita is a winner. Service was nothing special and the place was pretty dead the 2 hours while we dined.

We celebrated a special day with lunch at Ouisie's Table. The atmosphere was relaxed southern comfort. The beautiful bar was closed due to the covid restrictions but I would love to have a drink there in the future. My husband and I both ordered their famous chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint us. The mustard greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread were really good. I could have eaten a basket of little cornbread bites. I will definitely go back and save room for dessert next time.

Husband and I went to lunch at Ouisie's Table for Houston Restaurant Week (HRW) (during the pandemic). We were quite pleased! All wait staff were in masks, tables separated for social distancing, food was delicious, and waiter very good. We had never heard of Ouisie's Table before we saw the name on the HRW list. We are so glad we tried it! Apparently under normal operations, parking is limited. Google maps had us parking at a lot nearly a half mile away. Fortunately we decided to try parking at the restaurant, and there were several spots available, along with valet parking. We both ordered the Mediterranean salad, 4 oz filet & shrimp for the entree. I had the lemon ice box pie for dessert, and husband had apple strudel. I am not a fan of salad dressings, but this one was great. The waiter suggested a bottle wine and it was also good with the meal, and not expensive. All in all, a great meal which also helped out the Houston Food Bank.

We recently had my son's Rehearsal Dinner at Ouisie's Table and it was outstanding. We had 44 attendees in Lucy's Porch, which gave us plenty of room to mingle and chat both before and during the dinner. Working with Ouisie's Table to arrange the dinner was very comforting as they have done this many times. We picked Miss Ruby's Signature Dinner which everyone that was great! The two wines (white and red) were very good also. The three Hor D' Oeuvres were excellent and all liked the variety. The waitstaff were attentive, not overly so, which we appreciated. The restaurant was packed that night and the kitchen did a fine job getting all of our meals out to us at the same time. We used a sound system for all the speeches, that was essential. We highly recommend Ouisie's Table for an occasion like this!

At the end of April, I held my son’s rehearsal dinner on the patio at Ouisie’s Table. The entire evening went off without a hitch. The room was beautiful, the food amazing and the staff went above and beyond the call. We had several out-of-state guests, and many complimented me on the evening pointedly commenting on the friendly, helpful staff. A big thank you to Ouisie’s for kicking off the wedding weekend with a huge win by showing off our Texas hospitality. Not only will I call them again when I need to schedule another special event but will highly recommend them at every opportunity.

We had over 75 people at the rehearsal dinner in the main dining room for our son's wedding and it was perfect! Francesca from Quisie's is the perfect event planner and guided me through the process. Shundra of Anderson Atelier designed and decorated the place with the most amazing flower arrangements and decorations. They were outstanding. The night of the event Edwardo attended to our every need and the food, of course, was spectacular! Rave reviews on all the food! Rachel Neiman provided outstanding artwork on the chalk board. The bar tenders and wait staff were experts at their jobs and very professional. The cocktail hour started the evening in the garden and the entire night was magical! In my imagination I could never have asked for a more perfect evening! I would recommend Ouisie's to everyone I know!

Ouisie’s continues with their good cuisine and service! Setting is agreeable both on the main room and on the porch overlooking the patio. This time we tried the Rainbow Trout and the Branzino and both were delicious, fresh and the vegetables crunchy. The gluten free chocolate cake was great! Recommended classic restaurant in Houston!

This was one of the best meals and best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every detail from the valet service, to the host, the waitstaff, the manager, and most definitely the food was just superb. Elegant and classy atmosphere without being pretentious. Great wine selection, great appetizers/entrees/desserts selections of foods you know and love, perfectly prepared in new and exciting ways. I can’t wait to go back.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with mom, amazing atmosphere.
Food was perfectly prepared and elegantly served. (Great appetizers, entrees, meals, desserts selections )
The service was superb from the valet service to the host and the manager ( Yassine and Adam ) was perfect and welcoming.
I can’t wait to go back, absolutely recommend it.

Ouisie's has a more upmarket feel to it and a more formal ambiance than many Houston eateries (despite still having the ubiquitous TV screen showing sports over the bar). It is clearly a popular place and was pretty much full when we arrived on a Monday evening. Service was helpful, friendly and very polished, though possibly a little too quick on occasion. The menu offers a good variety and all of us really enjoyed the dishes we ordered which were well prepared and beautifully presented. The selection of breads, spinach dip and paella deserve special mention. Hope I get the opportunity to return at some point.

Went for a birthday brunch on a Sunday. The place is very pretty albeit very crowded and loud. They had a piano player which was nice, but we were too close so it added to the noise level. We had the shrimp and avocado salad and the eggs benedict, neither of which were anything out of the ordinary. Our server though was fantastic. Don't remember his name but charming and very helpful. I would go again but at a less busy time. There were a few people there with children, but I personally wouldn't bring kids here.

Delicious chicken salad sandwich with yummy house made chips. The Stilton kit with grilled chicken was also lovely. Always love the mini biscuits and muffins served with whipped butter. And the lemon ice box pie really good! This spot for lunch never disappoints!
