One of the best meals in Houston this time. We had braised pork, ceviche, shrimp, lamb, flan and churros. All were fresh and tasty! Service was excellent too!

Not a "typical "Mexican place The special of the day featured pomegranate and walnuts, but we were looking for a lighter fare. Choices include lamb, goat, and fish....not my expectation. Chili roasted peanuts in place of chips. I went for Carne Brava which was smoked and sauteed. Very tasty and interesting presentation. The salsa that came w had pine nuts.... More

Visited for our anniversary. Broad menu with large array of interesting libations. Far cry from Tex-Mex. Everything we tried was tasty and, mostly, different from what our palates are used to. Do beware the hotter chili sauces (served on the side), but quite fiery. Rajas (with Tortitas de Lentejas) were terrific. Huachinango a la Veracruzana and Cabrito were both excellent.... More

My husband's review. Too far for me to be on a regular rotation, but it will get repeat visits. Each dish we had was very good, and there were a lot of places on the menu that we did not venture to that we can check out on future visits. Margaritas were tasty, but small. We decided that we will... More

We had read about Hugo's on a must do in Houston... How true this was. Great service and a fantastic array of food to choose from. You know a place is pretty good when it's full at 10.30am on a Sunday! Too many favorite items to choose from, but I loved the Rice dish with seafood. Desserts choice was great,... More

We loved our visit. We sat at the bar and watched tx/OU. We had a very tender pork appetizer with habanero salsa and guacamole too. Both excellent. The chocolate piramides mousse was made with Oaxacan chocolate. So good s I ordered two hot chocolates with Kailua. Outstanding. Very personable bartender.

Now this is what I'm talking about!!! Great food, Great Service, Great Price! We visited Hugo's on a Sunday night around 8PM. We walked in without reservations and were seated right away. Appetizers: Lechon and Empanadas de Platanos. Simply amazing! The Lechon tasted wonderful and the empanadas were little bites of heaven. Entrees: I had Carne Brava, the skirt steak... More

I was invited to dine with some business associates here. What a wonderful surprise! I had perfectly cooked red fish (I believe) and excellent wine, too. I will be back with my wife! Remember to make a reservation.
