The service was snappy and disgracious, the person who took our orders was just too abrupt. We had gone there after reading about its history of excellence in food and hospitality, and on similar recommendations but it was a complete mistake, all bogus. The food would have tasted better if it was served well with gratitude and a smile.

Haven't seen my God son since he was 6...he's a Jr in college now. His choice for lunch - not sure I would of picked it. Boy was I wrong! They do a chilled fried cabbage salad with chicken - a-ma-zing! Had the pork fajitas to share and they were good too. The fried cabbage thing was epic! Taking my... More

I ate at Mai's a couple of weeks ago and the food and service were great. Be careful where you park your car though. Although I was in Mai's gates parking lot, and there was outside security on duty, my back windshield was broken and items stolen from my car. I didn't notice it but the people that I was... More

At one point in my life I went to Mai's a lot. However, I had not been there in a few years. We showed up at 3 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon and were there with about a dozen others. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and extremely tasty. My husband had rare beef pho and almost finished a large... More

Houston has many, many Vietnamese restaurants as a large number of Vietnamese were settled here at the end of the Vietnam war. And I have been to many of them. But Mai's is my favorite by far. I have been going to Mai's over 20 yrs. I was thrilled to see them rebuild after the fire that destroyed the building... More

Delicious food, everything is really clean and well taken care of. I have been in this restaurant three times, and all the food is excellent. Also, the staff is very nice and attentive; they served me the food in 3 minutes.

Typically a good spot but not this time. Ordered the vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and egg rolls. Chicken was burnt in some places and too dry to eat, same with the egg rolls. Not thinking about a return trip when you cannot get this simple dish prepared correctly!

I love Vietnamese food, so on a recent trip to Houston I was eager to check-out some new spots. I checked TripAdvisor and settled on Mai's Restaurant. When I entered the restaurant I was impressed: it was stylish and buzzing with diners. But I'm afraid the food was a letdown. I ordered a very common Vietnamese dish: Rice Vermicelli with... More
