This place does not want your business!!! I tried calling in a to go order. They said you have to go to the website. Which I did, but they only had 2 entrees listed. I called back and they said they were about to sell...out and that’s why not on website... total BS!! I then drove there and they did have what I wanted.. BUT you cannot get French fries to go!! They are worried about quality??? I told them I didn’t care and they still would not let me order Frend fries. I tried ordering for dine in and they said they knew I was going to take to go and they would not let me!!! I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE WEEKLY FOR YEARS AND NEVER WILL AGAIN!!!!More

Ceasar salad uses kale as “Romaine goes bad fast” awful, and weren’t told first. Service was good at bar for Sunday lunch. On the way out, manager chased us outside to say,” next time NO sandals! “ I had on $60.00 yellow box wedge sandals, dressy,the...lady near us at bar had on sandals, lady across had tennis attire and girl other side of us sandals and tank top! We were dressed better then them. Rude manager. Oh and we are evacuated here from Hurricane Laura, thank u for hospitality.! Sarcasm! So don’t worry, food wasn’t worth EVER going back and to be treated rudely shame on you!!More

I have been a regular patron to this establishment since the 80’s. I sat at the bar to have a meal. I received a phone call shortly after sitting down. I was socially distanced on either side. I had to take the call. It was...brief. Shortly after answering call, I was give. This card that says “Please! Respect other diners by taking your call outside. Thank you.” In the time I sat there, I watched two other patrons take calls and did not receive a card. I think it’s disrespectful to approach the issue in this way. They would do better by placing card on table or the info on the menu beforehand. I don’t feel like coming back here. My father was in ICU with covid and I take all calls related. I never usually answer calls in a public place. I’ll text. Disappointed to say the least.More

After SO MANY negative reviews which primary are the result of COVID impacts on the business, I wanted to say that Houston’s is back and they have adjusted. All COVID protocols were followed, my wife and I felt safe, and our experience was excellent. Our...food was great. We had the smoked Salmon, ribs and rotisserie chicken. Very good and the service was good too. Still a great restaurant.More

I have written reviews critical of Houston’s response to COVID, most specifically related to the restaurant essentially raising prices by making dishes a la carte and requiring an additional $5-7 for a side dish. We are long time regular customers but haven’t been or taken...out from there in a couple of months. We went back today and it was great. While the French Dip sandwich has now ticked up to $21, a side was included. It was as good as always, probably my favorite sandwich in the city. Furthermore they have now added a wild rice salad side dish that is really good. I highly recommend it. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and it was practically empty. By the time we left there were maybe 5 tables of people. Plus a few sitting at the bar. It’s strange as pre-COVID it was always packed.More

I have been going to Houston's Restaurants and Hillstone Restaurants for many years in Florida, Texas and California. The experience and food is always a home run. I have never had better Pork Ribs in my life.

Not respecting Covid 19 guidelines inasmuch. No face coverings by any member of the staff! Good seating separation at the bar but bar staff had no gloves, no face covering and a general lack of protocol in his handling of items. We elected to leave....Mentioned this to manager on way out but he seemed nonplussedMore

We were so excited when they reopened restaurants for dining in. Houston's was one of our top 5 to patronize the second things were allowed to open to 25% capacity. We had eaten at 2 of our 5 top & felt very safe seeing servers...wearing face masks, having sanitizer for your hands, paper menus, etc., but not at Houston's. When our family entered Houston's we were shocked to see none of their employees wearing face masks. Seriously!! People are dying from this virus & you're going to be handling our food/drinks! Everyone in our family agreed that none of us felt safe eating here & left. Shame on Houston's acting so non-caring & irresponsible for their customers' health & that of their employees. What's wrong with them!?!?More

I went there with my family. My two year old was crying a little bit. Then the manager name Elisabeth told me and my wife we need to get out the restaurant with my child. we were so embarrassed we left without eating the main...course. I felt racism okay a big part on this. The fact that I’m black and my child was only 2 . We will never go back there. Shame on this restaurant. Houston’ s KirbyMore

Not bad. Some tables better than others, but for a busy restaurant, relatively quiet
