Now relocated to 5000 Memorial (Westcott at memorial, across from Bayou Bend), this long time Houston sushi house is reborn. Lunch specials-all you can eat sushi for $12.95! The fish was plentiful and fresh. Salad crisp and cold. The crab puffs and gyozu excellent... I have eaten here twice this week on business and with family, and will return...

Expensive, slow service. Don't try to substitute anything; the few time you can, it's ka-ching! A year ago it was the same.

If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy your food, Cafe Japon is way better than Miyakos across the street. Half shell scallops is highly, highly recommended. Agendashi tofu never disappoints. Service is also great :D I've been coming here since I was in college and I always leave with a pleasant experience.

Why bother going inside? I see all I need to know, outside. That truck has been there for YEARS taking up parking space and is ugly with graffiti and broken parts. It sticks out into the narrow driveway making it hard to get to drive in lanes of other restaurants. Calls to the restaurant, Upper Kirby District and city aren't... More

I was a little hesitant to eat here after reading the reviews but I can only assume that they have made improvements or those reviews were wrong. The drinks were great our water was always full and the food was delicious. I had the maki combo and it was so much food I couldnt finish it all. My colleague had... More

We've eaten at Cafe Japon several times, due to convenience, mostly take out. Food is OK but they have made a lot of errors in the orders. Yesterday asked for "extra ginger" in the take-out, because they are usually skimpy. Got home and found the bare minimum, not extra as I had requested. Amount of wasabi was not enough to... More

I love Asian food. REALLY LOVE Asian food. But this was my first major dud. I confidently went to Cafe Japon and ordered a safe staple. Teriyaki Salmon dinner. BLAH. Can U say blah. I could not have messed this up more at home. No taste; No flavor; no distinction. Forget about atmosphere because it is a pick up at... More

This was only our second time to eat Japanese food and we were surprised that we liked it so much. Neither my husband nor I were very hungry, so we ordered a dinner to share. It was enough food and not only very good, but also well presented. They also have specials after 7:00 PM, but we didn't know it... More

Reasonably priced. They have $5/$7/$9 specials from 7-11pm. I had the chicken katsu curry, huge portions, and delicious.
