We visited to celebrate a friends wedding. The food was amazing. The ceviche and calamari were very fresh and flavorful. The staff was very accommodating with our large party. Will definitely return.

I recently attended a private dinner event here and I found the private room to be extremely spacious and comfortable. For once there was plenty of space in between each person. I did not feel cramped at all and was able to fully enjoy my meal without being bumped into all evening long. From what I can tell, there was... More

Another great dining experience from Tony Mandola's. We made a reservation for an early dinner so we could mix the Happy Hour menu/drink prices with the full dinner menu. Even at 5:30 PM it was pretty busy due to being a Saturday night...but our table was ready and service was prompt. The one negative for the evening was that they... More

A group from the Bellaire High School class of '65 have lunched here a few times. I think it's a bit expensive but the food and the service, especially the service, is wonderful. Pricey: $20 for 6 fried oysters w/ fries and coleslaw. The boudin appetizer is some of the best I've ever eaten ($9). Tony Mandola has always been... More

Stumbled onto a Houston legacy .... and WOW what a treat! Fresh and delicious, especially the crab cakes (appetizer is plenty for main course!). And really good czar salad dressing! Next time we might just eat at the bar and order appetizers! LOVE the table sign that gives a # to text if you'd like to speak with the manager!... More

We ate at Tony Mandolas during our recent visit to Houston, and liked it. The menu features southern foods presented in a delicious sophisticated way. I enjoyed the homemade crawfish ravioli. For desert we tried the bread pudding. Both were good. Our waiter was great and managed our large group in a friendly and efficient way. I would like to... More

We like the menu. Very thoughtful, and not very extensive. But if you want quality with whatever you want, it's this. This family of restaurateurs never misses. We like the place. The oysters were pretty small, so we didn't like that, but my spouses shrimp were done very ell, and my grilled chicken breast was. First time there, and we... More

The seafood gumbo was fabulous. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions of shrimp and other tasteful ingredients. The Caesar salad was also good. All of the fish and seafood entrees are exceptional. Free valet parking..

Ate at the famous Tony Mandola's Seafood Kitchen in September for a groupon lunch. They have a limited groupon menu but the choices are still very good. I had the Crawfish Ravioli and my husband had the trout almondine. Both were excellent. I also was tempted by the frozen Bellini (alcohol not included in Groupon). I also tried the key... More

We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We had appetizers of grilled oysters and stuffed jalapeños. I had the ahi tuna while others had shrimp and fish. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. The owner introduced himself while we were eating. Overall the food was excellent.

In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, which we owned and operated for 22 years. A second Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar debuted on Shepherd in 1984, which he closed four years later in order to open our famous West Gray Tony Mandolaʼs flagship location. Our lifelong dream of owning a freestanding restaurant has now become a reality with the opening of our new, permanent Tony Mandola's location at 1212 Waugh Drive. We take great pride in serving what we think is some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Everything is homemade fresh in our kitchen daily and many of our dishes are our Mamas' recipes. God Bless our Mamas and God Bless you for your patronage.“Dedicated to the preservation of the art of Mamas' Cooking.” Sincerely,Tony & Phyllis Mandola
