The seafood gumbo was fabulous. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions of shrimp and other tasteful ingredients. The Caesar salad was also good. All of the fish and seafood entrees are exceptional. Free valet parking..

Ate at the famous Tony Mandola's Seafood Kitchen in September for a groupon lunch. They have a limited groupon menu but the choices are still very good. I had the Crawfish Ravioli and my husband had the trout almondine. Both were excellent. I also was tempted by the frozen Bellini (alcohol not included in Groupon). I also tried the key... More

We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We had appetizers of grilled oysters and stuffed jalapeños. I had the ahi tuna while others had shrimp and fish. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. The owner introduced himself while we were eating. Overall the food was excellent.

After completing a business trip I sat at the bar, watched a college football game over their excellent grilled oysters and étouffée, along with a good Chianti. The bartender was very tentative and friendly and overall it was an excellent experience.

We have dined at Tony Mandola's before and chose to have dinner there during the last week of Houston Restaurant Week. We found that the restaurant's HRW menu was reasonably priced and offered a broader choice of appetizers and entrees than some of the other restaurants who participated. The restaurant offers a very nice bar area, and has a daily... More

We dined at Tony Mandola's last weekend, and ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. 3 of the 4 of us ordered the gumbo as the first course, and we were blown away. Fabulous flavor and loaded with shrimp! The entree was also outstanding - snapper, perfectly prepared. The service was first rate. We'll be back!

The Only thing that was delicious was the appetizer. The spiedini is really good, I'll give it to them. But for the price they charge the entries should be much better. I ordered a $40 filet that was somewhat chewy and flavor wasn't good at all. Honestly outback does 10 times better for less than $15... the fish wasn't much... More

I dined early on Saturday evening with my wife and our daughter, who was visiting from LA. We enjoyed cocktails before dinner and Cajun Fried Green Tomatoes and Spiedini -- both fantastic. We had seafood for entrees and every dish was superb. The evening was topped off with a slice of Key Lime Banana Pie. The wine list offered a... More

My wife and I selected Tony Mandola's Houston Restaurant Week menu out of the dozens offered because the $35 p/p selections were the most appealing to our particular taste. My wife started to order a Sicilian salad, but our waiter suggested a more adventurous broccolini salad that had a rich smoky taste, unlike anything I have ever had or thought... More

Yesterday my wife and I made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner at Tony Mandola's for 5 PM. It turned out the reservation was not really needed as we were just the 3rd couple in the restaurant at that time. But we were happy with the timing just the same since we stumbled into their Happy Hour pricing. I... More

In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, which we owned and operated for 22 years. A second Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar debuted on Shepherd in 1984, which he closed four years later in order to open our famous West Gray Tony Mandolaʼs flagship location. Our lifelong dream of owning a freestanding restaurant has now become a reality with the opening of our new, permanent Tony Mandola's location at 1212 Waugh Drive. We take great pride in serving what we think is some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Everything is homemade fresh in our kitchen daily and many of our dishes are our Mamas' recipes. God Bless our Mamas and God Bless you for your patronage.“Dedicated to the preservation of the art of Mamas' Cooking.” Sincerely,Tony & Phyllis Mandola
