We have eaten at Khun Kay several times since we recently moved nearby. This small restaurant is run by a Thai family, and their food is always fresh and tasty. As others have mentioned, the parking is limited, but we never had a problem since...we came for late lunches. There are about 10-12 small tables inside, and maybe 5 tables outside on the patio by Montrose Blvd. You order at the counter, and then the staff delivers the food to your table. Our favorite dishes have been the braised eggplant, papaya salad, and tom yum soup. Portion sizes are smallish, but then so are the prices ! Best way to eat here is to go in a group, order a variety of dishes, and then share them.More
The food is is very good, just a little high, but I have never seen a Thai restaurant as chintzy with their peanut sauce as this one. The container was barely larger than a couple of thimbles, and the peanut sauce was so watered down...it actually poured like water. Their other dipping sauces come in the same tiny containers. They upcharge for extra portions of peanut and other sauces, which are in the same minute thimbles! It's a shame that they are so cheap because the food is excellent.More
I called in a takeout order of Tom Yum soup and Drunken Noodles. The order was ready when I got there in about 20 minutes (they said it would be 25). Parking was ample, at least on a Sunday night, in their lot next to...the restaurant. The Tom Yum was fantastic, one of the best I’ve seen. The Drunken Noodles were good—noodles cooked well, good veggies, but lacked zing. Some more basil and definitely more peppers were needed. I blamed it on my ordering (hot, but not too hot) so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Next time I’ll go for a 4/5 on the heat. Portions were large. Looking forward to going again.More

I've eaten hear several times, I used to live about a block away. It is owned and operated by a Thai family. Parking supposedly can be iffy, I would guess weekday lunch-time would men you have to park in a separate lot nearby but I've...never had a problem fitting into the lot at the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent, I take mine 4/5 hot. Try the wings ( I know, not Thai but delicious), any of the curries, Thai tacos, crispy chicken pad thai. All pretty standard Thai-American food but prepared well and the workers a super-friendly and helpful.More
Love the pad Thai, green curry and drunken noodles! We all shared and it was delish. We had the spring rolls as well and they were crispy and hot. All good! All of the;potions were generous, hot, fresh and tasty. I really love the drunken...noodles as they are served in a brown sauce and love the green curry chicken with all of the veggies. Yum!More
This is good quality food. The service is good. The prices are good. The portuons are good. The mango curry is awesome!
We enjoyed our quick lunch here. The manager and staff were friendly and obviously very involved in the business. And the food was delicious – and very reasonably priced. Quality you might expect at a more expensive place.

I took my seven year old niece and nephew to this restaurant. They were the ones that wanted to go there. It is very casual but don't let that fool you as this is some of the best Thai food I have had. The children...absolutely love the noodles and rice. We ordered two meals and split them between three people. We had plenty left over to take home. They have indoor or outdoor seating and we chose out door due to the weather being fantastic.More
I had a quick lunch here after someone cancelled a meeting. I was in and out very quickly. I had the green curry chicken. The curry was very tasty and it had broccoli which you don't typically see. I've become a real Thai food snob. This is by far my favorite place, especially the Panang Curry with pork. My son loves the yellow curry with chicken. The green curry is equally delicious, as is the pad thai and the fried rice. Lunch specials...are terrific - soup, egg roll, entree for around $6 or 7 bucks most of the time. Top dinner off with sticky rice with mango in season. Thai beer (Singha). Very nice people and alway see lots of familiar faces. That tells you something!More
My wife and I are blessed to have this Houston gem right down the road from us. The staff members are always friendly, the service is always quick, and the food is always delicious. Whenever we crave Thai food this is the one and only...restaurant we think of. Keep up the good work!More
