Because of CoVid19, you can’t find any push cart dimsum service in Houston anymore. Dim Sum King never needs push cart. The menu has accurate descriptions with photos.
No surprises. Just plenty of delicious and authentic dim sum. I highly recommend anyone visiting Houston Chinatown to pay them a visit. They offer delivery too. Employees speak fluent English. Dining room can accommodate large groups siting at the family size tables.
My favorites are shumai and dumplings. These freshly made dimsum need to be consumed at the restaurant. I refused to eat takeout dimsum. That’s a different experience.

A short weekend in Houston and we searched for a good Dim Sum restaurant. Very good service and delicious Dim Sum . Really liked the BBQ roll. Could have eaten a dozen of them! Not far from The Galleria area.

An unassuming dim sum spot with well prepared food. Was their first guest of the day and all that I ordered were delicious and excellent.

I guess the whole point of my review boils down to “not what I expected.” Very few chicken dishes, approximately 2, and there was a bit too much fried/doughy food on the menu. I would definitely try another place instead. You have SO many options!!

We were in Houston looking for some dim sum, there was one close to our hotel close to galleria mall read reviews but was too fancy for what we were looking for, then started to look for a place on yelp and found this dim sum king.
First was kind of difficult to find this place but worth it! It’s hidden so be careful when you read the restaurant boards.
This is not a cart dim sum place, you make ur order and they start making them so this is a proof that it is freshly made. We orders the traditional dim sum like har gao, shrimp balls, and turnip cake but listen this turnip cake it was really delicious, very savory, little bit crunch in the outside and soft inside. This was a nice surprise! We tried before in different restaurants in the world and this was a nice surprise, we were really wonder if they used real turnip because in some other restaurant they use daikon (Korean or Japanese) and this had a different taste .
We also ordered some other dishes and to finalize we order sesame red bean balls.. OMG freshly made! Sooo yummieeeeee definetly we will go back!!

Best Dim Sun since San Francisco. All of the family favorites. Dumplings, bao dzu, vegetables, noodles, chow fun. Loved it. Real busy means it's good for the locals.

This place is THE BEST! I am constantly craving Dim Sum so every time that I come to Houston this is my go-to spot. Since they have remodeled there is now plenty of space and they even have a rewards program.

I like the way they have the menu laid out. You get a sheet of items to order but you also get a menu with pictures with item numbers that are on the order sheet. Many of my favorites were on the menu so I had to be selective in order not to over do the ordering. Even then I kind of went overboard.
I agree with Janmcc12 about everything. The server went was very friendly and helpful in helping me make my selections.
Be aware that the restaurant is closed on Thursday.

I would give a zero star if I could. I went here to enjoy dim sum with my family and I happen to have a service dog for seizures. Upon entering the man at the front desk told me that my service dog, who was wearing a vest clearly marked service dog, could not be in the restaurant. I tried to explain to him the law surrounding service dogs and even tried to give him an ADA law card. He tried to tell me that it was against health code, and I explained to him that, that did not apply to service animals. As I kept talking to him, I realized that he was not going to listen to me or grant me access to the restaurant, my family and I decided to leave and go to Tan Tan instead. I highly recommend Tan Tan. It is just across the street and it has amazing food.

Many restaurants of this sort are often given a thumbs down on service even if the food is good. Not so here! Our group of 5 was seated on New Years day after a 10 minute wait or so, we were waited on by a group that was working together as a team.
The food was terrific, and so was the pricing.

Our family are regulars to their former small restaurant for years before renovation. So we can draw a good comparison between the old and new. Their new seating is expanded with revised menu. Dim sum plates are consistent as in the past. Pricing has gone up but so is everything else after a face lift.
Since there were unfavorable reviews on their service, part of this review covers the service experience as a dining patron.
By all means, the old "hole in the wall" image of a good Chinese restaurant belonged to a bygone era. Changes drive a business expansion. Obviously, we cannot compare a Chinese restaurant in an Asian shopping plaza to a 5-star establishment. Most of the restaurant wait staff are new, young and energetic, responded well to patron's requests. The exception came from one senior wait person who seemed immune to all diner's wave and verbal engagement. Simply walked pass tables uttering the dishearten line "wait a while" and ignoring their request. This is due to an attitude (among former generation of customer-facing staff) that gratuities are "pooled" among all tables. The incentive to do a better job for better tip does not exist. However, the bill reminded you the tip amount (in percentage of total sale + tax) for wait staff.
All in all, this service shortcoming may be part of their growing pain. An updated review will be published after our next visit.

Banner out side said Grand Opening, so I came in with a work colleague, to sample the menu. Between us, we had the shrimp fried rice, toss pan fried beef noodles (although we ordered flat noodles) Turnip cakes, and some egg rolls, which were very well cooked.
The shrimped rice was okay, not outstanding, but the beef noodles, with the crunchy veg, was very tasty. The portions were larger than I've had at other restaurants as well.
The restaurant itself was difficult to find, thanks to my GPS, mind you, it turned out that the restaurant was well hidden, behind a banner and slightly hidden down a bit of an alley. However, the restaurant was very clean, well presented, no silly music, The staff appeared to lack leadership on the floor, all were very young indeed, and were not observant to customers waving a menu at them who were ready to order.
I don't know what it is about Chinese restaurants, they either offer you sugar, or Sweet N Low, and nothing else. Wake up people, there are so many alternatives out there, so buy it, and offer it! The tea was, well, just iced tea. The Jasmine tea I did not order, but it was with fresh tea leaves, no bags.
I can't say this is a great restaurant at this time, I will need to make another visit or two. For the time being, this must remain an average restaurant. Sorry, no photos at this time.

The place is small and tight. No carts to see what they have but if you ask for it they have pictures that match up with the menu. The only problem is that neither the pictures or the menu indicate whether an item has 1 piece, 3 pieces or what.
That said, all of the food comes out of the kitchen fresh out of the oven or fryer or whatever. Tasty and hot. Best dim sum I have had in quite a while.
