Let me start off by acknowledging the hostess. We called ahead of time to reserve a table and all that was left was seating in the bar. We said we'll take it. We show up late, because we missed our turn and we're not from Houston. She had saved our table and the bar seating was a booth, not at... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVORITE REVIEW

Danton's is easy access and parking on Montrose--a real find. It specializes in Gulf coast seafood and odes a great job of it. From oysters on the shell to crab cakes (flatten like pancakes!), to a Mexican Campechana (yummy seafood cocktail with shrimp, crab, avocado), you can't go wrong. Two gumbos! Bisque and garlic soup and crab salad. I am... More

We stopped here for lunch. The restaurant has an antique feel to it. It was busy during a midweek lunch time, with people dressed up in suits. I ordered soup which was excellent, and we also had the fish tacos.

Food was delicious and quiet enough atmosphere to be able to have dinner conversation. Portions large - my husband and I split the Stuffed Shrimp dinner (small plate fee $3.00 to split)and we each were stuffed. We ordered the crab stuffed shrimp broiled and the house rice (a great side). Grilled vegetable side also very good.

For Valentine's 2017 I took my beautiful wife to Danton's for our romantic dinner. She ordered the crab stuffed shrimp with pasta and I ordered the Shrimp Creole with brown rice (get the white instead), a side caesar salad and a couple of Karbach Hopadillos instead of wine. The food was wonderful, great ambience with live music, very good service,... More

Needed a place for a casual business dinner, was craving oysters and found a review for Danton's on Trip Advisor. We ate in the bar and had fantastic service. I asked for a cocktail recommendation and loved it - a good assortment of "not your typical cocktails". Then we asked about recommendations on cooked and raw oysters - it's all... More

this is a very strange electic place. White table clothes, and good New Orleans food. Its very upscale, serve is way above par, but there is not a pretentious air. Loved it. I did have the crawfish bisque, and somebody in the kitchen has their grandmas recipe! Terrific.

We weren't real hungry, so ordered a few different appetizers and couple of soups so we could sample different items. Had Oysters Mantrose to start, then ordered Oyster Stew, then Corn and Crab Bisque. Finished meal with order of fried oysters ala carte. Drinks were good. Service was great and food server hot and surprisingly fast. Best oysters I have... More

My sife and I went for dinner. The place is comfortable and upscale in its feel and look. Most men had on a jacket but it was not stuffy. There is a main dining room and a seperate oyster bar. There are a few spacious booths - we enjoyed one of them. This food is the real deal. Fresh gulf... More

Great brunch menu with wonderful singing by Annette and music by "The Guys"! Nice way to start a Sunday in the Museum area.
