I had the daily special (fish and shrimp) and it was good. After seeing someone else's hamburger my husband ordered a cheeseburger (He could be considered a cheeseburger connoisseur). He didn't like it...looked good, but not good. If we return, we'd stick with the daily special and/or something other than the burger.

We had the daily special which happened to be meatloaf. I'm always a little hesitant to order meatloaf but I took a chance and was absolutely delighted. Could not have been more delicious. Very cozy and warm atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Wow! We are staying a few nights between Harper and Fredericksburg. Never been to Harper so we headed there just to eat at the best restaurant in Harper. We were not disappointed at all. Got there just before 12 and it was already packed. Lots of hunters and locals. We had to wait a little while, but well worth it.... More

Very good food and service. The brisket hash is out of this world. So if it's out-of-the-way recommend stopping and you're find with the Bible verses on the menu and Fox news on the TV and it's a great conservative part of Texas.

What a great experience. Riding the Hill Country, we came across the Longhorn Cafe in Harper. Wonderful people providing great service, with a ton of food choices. What a gem! I had a chicken fried chicken sandwich as I was overwhelmed with all the choices on the menu. Who'd have thought you would get such great food? Really, really nice... More

Harper Tx. is 25 minutes west of Fredericksburg Tx. on hiway 290. The food is very good and prices affordable for the last couple of years. The great staff makes it worth the short drive out into the hill country. It is easy to explore the county roads in Gillespie County if you use Fredericksburg as your base GPS location.

We ate breakfast at the Longhorn Cafe this morning...our first time. Wonderful breakfast, good fresh hot coffee and a cheerful, friendly and attentive server named Misty. The lunch and dinner menu looks delicious. Can't wait to go again for lunch and again for dinner!

It's been awhile since we dined here, and this time the food was even better. Great eggs/bacon breakfast for my husband, and really delicious chicken salad sandwich for me. The fries were terrific... almost a tempura-style of frying that wasn't greasy. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were pleased with the economical pricing. Good table service and friendly wait... More
