I was torn between rating this a three or a four...to me it is pretty much a three and a half, so I went with a four. I recommend just doing breakfast here as my breakfast was excellent and very fairly priced. I had two...eggs scrambled, a nice slice of ham and hash browns with an English muffin. I asked for no butter on the muffin and it came just as I asked. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were crispy.
On the other hand, my wife had a cheeseburger and rated it only fair as she said the meat was overcooked and had little to no flavor. Our son had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and he rated it as OK as well.
Our server was both friendly and efficient. Prices are quite reasonable and the place is fun to visit as a 60's classic diner set-up. I would definitely return, but would do so for the breakfast menu.More
Found my new favorite place for Chicken Fried Steak. Cooked the old fashioned way no frozen meat patty here, comes with 3 sides. There are a wide variety of sides also a lot more than some others. I had fried squash. yummy. Quaint cafe with...Marilyn Monroe and Flamingo themes. Highway Patrol Officer and Marilyn are permanently standing on the roof. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had three and the tab was under $30.00More
The ladies that serve you are so nice, attentive to bring you refills or extra napkins etc. and the food is great! I recall when I worked at the library , sometimes I had not eaten breakfast and you can get it for lunch there....The breakfasts are really good. I got an omelet this time and it was lumberjack sized and with it I had a choice of biscuits n gravy or hash browns or pancakes . I am a big eater but took half home for a midnight snack. I got up in the middle of the night thinking about it a popped t into the microwave for one minute. " Pure heaven". My friend who met me there had the chicken fried steak and you get two huge pieces and there is also a smaller menu of the same lunch for the lighter eater. One has two portions of meat with three sides and one much cheaper is one portion and two sides. Also one of the regular sides is a baked potato , so you will not be hungry believe me.I will go back more often.More
The building is over 60 years old and is a classic. The place is well kept and clean. the menu is basic with multiple entrees and 3 sides starting at $7.99. The portions are adequate for most people. The vegetables appears to be canned but...are served hot. The side salad was fresh mixed greens,a plus. A good alternative for fast food at about the same price. There appear to be a number of "regulars". Parking is no problem since The Cafe is a stand alone building in a mall area.More
The church ladies always go out for Sunday lunch, but didn't want to wait on Father's Day. Got a table right away and the food came out pretty soon. Large portions at a good price. I love me some fried okra!
My family and I have been going to the Café for years. The service has nearly always been on the ball, lets get real here every place get busy and behind the eightball sometimes. The food I have never left hungry usually feel like I...need a two-wheeler to roll me out to my truck. It doesn't matter what meal I am eating its always hot and tasty. I recommend The Café wholeheartedly Especially the club sandwich ask for the ham to be grilled makes it even more tasty.More
In the mood for something different (other than I-Hop, cracker Barrel, Denny's etc.) and decided to give the restaurant a try.
Typical breakfast, lunch and dinner cafe.
Not a large breakfast menu though.
Had the cheese omelette, and a cup of coffee.
Not bad (omelette)...but coffee is the typical industrial type.
Service was quick & efficient.
Must say the owner has an infinity for Marilyn Monroe paraphernalia.
Would i go back? Probably not but I'm sure that the regulars there would disagree with me.More
While this diner will probably never make it to "Triple D", it is a fun place decorated straight out of Miami Beach, that serves just plain good, down home, comfort food. They serve breakfast all day, have daily lunch specials, and an attentive wait staff....I had their chopped sirloin plate and was impressed it was fresh ground beef shaped by hand cooked as requested and very tasty as were the side dishes that came with the meal. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable for even those on a budget. I'll be back again soon.More
