We had lunch at the Nutshell. We had the grilled pimento cheese. It was pretty good. It brought back childhood memories. The portions are generous and relatively inexpensive. I would have given them 4 stars but when leaving the Opera House last evening you could see into the bakery. There were bakers racks of pans that still had the pan... More

This place has been around as long as I can remember.... we always stop here on the way to Camp Crucis and on the way home. The breakfast is worth the trip and oh the ruben is GOOD... the marble bread .... yummy... I make egg salad at home but my family says it isn't as good as the Nut... More

My family and I ate at the Nutshell for breakfast on a Sunday. Their prices are OUTSTANDINGLY low. Less than 5 dollars for a big breakfast. The food is fresh and just like my grandmother would make. The best part was the genuine country service. The ladies running the place were kind but straightforward and spunky.

It felt like I'd gone back in time about 30 years, and not sure it was in a good way. The chicken salad sandwich was ok nothing special, tiny amount of chips. The chocolate chip cookie had no taste. Service was without a smile, both on ordering and delivery of food. Decor looked old and very dated, certainly not in... More

Enjoyed the setting in this historic building. The food was just so-so however. Nothing fancy but your basic breakfast cuisine.

This is a sweet little spot. We enjoy taking our kids for a nice ice cream cone while Mom and Dad enjoy a piece of freshly baked apple pie. If you're looking for a nostalgic experience, this is a great little place to visit.

We enjoyed our lunch and dessert here. Wonderful service with good food. Nice, small town atmosphere in this little old building.

We just stopped in for ice cream. It was ok. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. There was homemade bread that looked and smelled really good but we did not try any.

Stop in and have a nice piece of fresh baked cake or cookies and ice creme before attending one of the shows.

Ordered 4 sandwiches with chips and a canned sodas. Spent $40.00. Had to order at counter and pick up from window when ready. Food was fresh and good, but took a long time and should have gotten better service for the price.
