Why go to Fort Worth? Finally went to 1890 Grill. Fabulous service, excellent tenderloins, spinach, green beans and a side of mushrooms. Wine choices are extensive! Definitely make a reservation as we will be going more often!

had a wonderful dinner with my husband. Service was excellent and so was the food. I would highly recommend the ahi plate. I had the NY strip and it was perfect

We visited 1890 and Christina’s during our weekend in Granbury. Doesn’t seem like most reviewers agree with me, but I have to give the win to 1890. The atmosphere was more elegant than I expected in a small town, the service was warm and professional,...and the food was excellent. And yes, it’s pricey - but please see the title of my review. We started with the Texas Trilogy, upon our server’s recommendation. It was a good recommendation. I had the duck (the sauce that accompanies it is terrific!), and my husband had a steak. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, but they were out of the one we chose... which led to us trying something new and having a lovely chat with the masked sommelier. All wait staff was very compliant to masks. Oh, and they brought us a complimentary dessert - we chose the divine creme brûlée - for our anniversary. If you’re in a rush, this is not the place to go. Service was paced - which was just fine with us - and drinks were a bit slower to arrive than I’d like. That said, the servers worked hard and genuinely seemed to care about our experience.More

Steaks were very good. Wine prices are out of sight! Bottle of Faust was priced at $150 when at most places it is $90 or under. We also told them it was our anniversary and they did nothing.

I'm really not as impressed with this restaurant as the restaurant seems to be. To give you the bad an good so you can make your own mind up, I'll explain. This is an absolutely charming small town but this restaurant wants to act like...it is high class big city. It's not. We ate all over at what are considered the best in town and this one failed from the moment we stepped in the door. The hostess/possible floor manager was rude, unwelcoming, and was profiling people when they came in the door. We had a reservation, she asked our name and told us they were currently bussing several tables and it would be a moment. We sat down at the bench and then she proceeded to seat 5 other reservations the moment they walked in the door. What I noticed was if they were dressed like they were going to the prom, they got seated. If you were wearing more casual clothes, you had to wait even with the reservation. One couple came in without a reservation and even stated they would wait but the hostess was so rude and basically told them there was no way they would be able to eat there tonight and next time they should make a reservation. After 15 minutes of ignoring us, she turns around and asks our name again because she obviously forgot it and then told us she would seat us in a few moments. After much discussion with her underlings, we were then shuttled upstairs to be seated where there were several empty tables available. From that point forward what I can say is that our waiter took care of us and the food was pretty good. Was it the best I have ever had? No. But it was good, if overpriced. It did not make up for the beginning experience. The restaurant could be so much better if first off they lose the attitude that they are the best and so you should bow down to them instead of the other way around. Second, replace the main hostess/manager or re-train her to actually be welcoming instead of rude. Third, stop profiling. You can't size up a person's wealth or whether they have class or how much they are going to spend by just briefly looking at someone. The snooty rude behavior is flat out unacceptable. I will be coming back to Granbury again in the future because we loved the town so much, but will not eat here ever again. There are other restaurants on the square that are not only better food, but much better service and attitude.More

The food was good, salad and dessert was good. Was not that impressed with the steak. I’ve eaten in a lot of fine dining steak houses (bobs chop shop, nick and sams steak house, delmonicos) .the steaks are pricey for the quality. The cheese cake...was excellent. The reason I gave 3 stars is the wait we had to be seated and the quality of the steaks. We had reservations for 6 and was seated at 6:40. The staff was nice.More

This is a favorite restaurant of ours for special dinners. The food is outstanding , as well as the service. We dined there this weekend, and there was only one thing I’d mention — and that is: we have Always been in the upstairs dining...room and it is busy, but well-spaced, quiet & relaxing. This time, we were seated (indoors), but downstairs on the street level. It was So LOUD!! We could barely hear our server, and I know she was speaking as loudly as she could! Admittedly, there was a boisterous/intoxicated group seated in our area— but sadly, the acoustics were such that it was not a relaxing dinner. We loved our food & drinks, but were SO ready to leave. It’s just best to ask to be seated upstairs in future.More

We had a great dinner - the appetizers were very good, our steaks were excellent, and the wine list was extensive. The servers were very friendly, and their pacing was good for the whole meal. We definitely recommend 1890 for a nice dinner.

I believe you would enjoy dining inside far more than on your patio. Their setting, service and food will match any five-star restaurant in Dallas or Fort Worth, and with the limited seating, it is even more intimate. They... More
