This place has so many great reviews we looked forward to trying it. It is obviously a favorite of many but we just thought it was just ok. You will get a lot of fried food for your money.

This is one of those little jewels that looks like a place you would not stop at. Very small, food is Texas fried and fresh and crispy.

Yes they have other items on the menu but you can't go wrong with a burger and crinkle cut fry's. Pick a booth in the back by the window and you might see a family of ducks. Always good food at reasonable prices with a smiling face behind the counter.

You can't go wrong, whether you choose a hamburger or freshly fried catfish! Both are delicious! Made when you order and cooked to your satisfaction, with a choice of excellent sides to choose from! Although shirts and shoes required, Come as You ARE... I have been eating at Irby's since 1975, arriving in our boat and docking just behind the... More

I have tried to like this place because a lot of people think it is a fun place to eat. But honestly, to me, the food is greasy and tastes like the grease is never changed. Even the tea tasted greasy. Just can't recommend this place. Wish I could, but I can't.

This place made our newspaper's Top 10 Places to Eat in Hood County. Being new residents, we thought we better check it out! All I can say is to get there early or you'll be in line outside! This is a little hometown diner. The atmosphere is exactly that - hometown. You order at the counter and they bring your... More

Right on the lake, you can get your food from a your boat at their dock. The cops eat there, you know it's good.

Was in Granbury for the first time attending an event. We stopped at Irby's minutes before they closed. They accommodated us. The staff there was friendly. We got our food to go and took it back to where we were staying, sat outside on the patio and ate. The catfish and shrimp was sooooooooo good! Going back to Granbury next... More

Building is not much to look at, inside or out but the place is clean The small staff works hard and the food is good. Especially the Fried Catfish plate. That's what we go there for, although we have had the hamburgers and a couple of other things. Place your order when you walk in and they bring it to... More
