Warm, soft and great flavor! Service was fast and attentive. And by the looks of other diners plates...breakfast dishes are well proportioned.

When we spend the weekend in Giddings for the Lee County Charcoal Challenge & we always go to Mel's for Breakfast. Then Western Omelette is sooo good and is a great price. I have never had better than this. One of these days we will try Lunch but haven't because we eat at the Charcoal Challenge. Can't wait till May!
I stopped in for lunch. Decided to go with one of the lunch specials: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, cream gravy, Texas toast, & dessert. The waitress was very friendly. We all ordered breakfast. The food was great and my husband raved about his omelette. The restaurant is small but that's ok. Everybody seemed to fit just fine. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The food was great, the service was a one and the place was clean. Only problem I saw was that the place needs to enlarge!

They make a good breakfast, and wonderful croissant breakfast sandwiches. I noticed the Mel's sign is gone now, but it says breakfast and donuts. Try it.... More
Waitress ignored us. She did the least amount of interaction with us. Never came back to see how things were, did we want anything else, would you like a refill on that coffee? Nothing. I guess it was her way of telling us to leave. Food okay. Someone told me there'd been a knife fight there.
