Food over fried. Almost burnt shrimp. The sauces, i. e. ran out like coctail sauce and not replaced during our meal. The service definitely not what it use to be. One time someone came to our table. Overall, the flavor and service are only average and not above like when they first opened.

The Senior Menu is a bargain! The food was fresh, nicely cooked, and good service. The wait person was personable and good natured. Comfort food at its best. Only the hush puppies were a little undercooked. But the Jalapeño Tartar sauce was very good!

This is a chain that started with the original restaurant on Ben White Blvd in Austin. That facility was basically a large warehouse with a kitchen and a food line. People there were very friendly and did everything they could to make our time there great. This one, in Georgetown is a NEW purposely built restaurant. The food is good... More

Hey Jeff thanks for taking the time to write a review. It's true that we are the third Catfish Parlour. My dad built the original in 1973 in North Austin that is in it's original building still. My Brother runs that one. The South store (1976) you mentioned was relocated about 100 yards when the highway expanded in 1999 so... More

Several visits to Catfish Parlour have left us full and satisfied each time, and we never have to ask for the complementary seconds on sides. It's hard to pick out a favorite here because everything is good from the salad bar to the seafood (always hot and fresh and never greasy) to the beans and slaw and hush puppies. They... More

I've gone here many times over the years and it has good service. The lunch has a buffet style design meaning the catfish is precooked. I had the medium spicy variety and it was average. The buffet style veggies have traditionally been very good however this trip was very bland. The cabbage has been my favorite in the past but... More

Thanks for the feedback Gary. I've been working on the issues you brought up. We don't offer spicy fried shrimp so there is a miscommunication there. Our system works great, but sometimes the orders get mixed up because we have a pretty big menu. Please give us another try! More

The onion rings were great but from there the food went downhill. The catfish was the best while the shrimp and Talipa was not goo. The beans were good and I asked for more. If you are only eating catfish, then this is a good place to eat.

Hey Granny Jo thanks for the feedback. It's true our catfish is the best. 100% USA Farm raised fresh and never frozen. We get good reviews on the shrimp so I'm surprised you didn't like yours. Ask for me next time and I'll make sure everything is perfect. Thanks! More

The food is a rather a different buffet. Many different stations. It is a all you can eat. The waitress was very helpful to us helping us to know what to do on first visit.

Went to eat with family. The service was excellent. Nicest staff you'll meet. The food was your standard fried seafood. I mean it's better than Long John Silvers, but nothing amazing. I had the fried catfish/oysters plate. I've never had oysters before and didn't really enjoy it. I think it was partially because they were fried. I'd probably come back... More

The food was fantastic, I love the green sauce for the hush puppies. The food orders are large, and come with sides & salad. Great value with a relaxed atmosphere.

Fish were good. Sides were as a second thought without much imagination. Went with a group so would not have gone otherwise.
