I was craving Mexican food on my first night in the area and noticed the reviews for this place. The place has a pleasant family atmosphere, nothing fancy, but inviting. I asked for the house specialty, a stuffed chicken dish, and it was really delicious.

We loved this place! Saw the reviews and had to try it, so happy we did. Family owned and operated, this restaurant is a hidden gem in northeast Dallas. Actually, I think it is Garland. Anyway, the surrounding area is a bit stark but this...place is outstanding. The food is authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex. Our food was as good as Meso Maya. We started with the queso and it was the best I ever had. Real cheese, not Velveta, so it is stringy like mozzarella on a pizza. Flavor was outstanding. I had to try the signature Sazon chicken and it was excellent. Chicken was tender and the flavor of the sauce was killer. It's more like a mole but a bit sweeter. The wife tried the chile rellano and it was baked, not deep fried. The sauce was excellent. So much flavor from the chicken and poblano pepper. The restaurant is clean. Restrooms are clean. The service was friendly--the owner stopped by a few times to chat--and the food came out quickly and was hot. Prices are extremely reasonable. This is the type of restaurant that deserves to be supported, more so than the corporate owned places such as El Fenix, so we will be back many times in the future.More
