Great stop for Brunch In Galveston!! Huge servings. Plenty of dining rooms to sit in. nice decor. great food!! In a historic area with lots of old homes to walk around and look at after you stuff yourself! parking can be tricky but just drive...around and park in front of some of the old houses just look for signs where permitted. Nice to walk to the restaurant after you park and again take in your surroundings. enjoy!More

We ate brunch here on our last day in Galveston. I wish we would have found this place sooner. The bakery was well stocked. The food portions are big.

We arrived Sunday morning before the rush. So glad we did because people had to wait a long time to be seated. My husband had the Belgian waffle and it was great. I had the pancakes. They were good but the waffle was better.

After many years of reading glowing reviews and driving back and forth past this place, we stopped and had lunch. We looked very much forward to dining here but in the end left rather disappointed. The server was extremely rushing to the point that he...was asking what he can get us before we even fully sat down. He seemed to be annoyed serving us. His understanding of the English language seemed to be lacking when he repeated our order of two entrees and got it wrong. He had to be corrected before leaving the table. When he did leave, we had no confidence he would get it right since he wrote nothing down. While waiting for our food, he did not check on us for drink refills or anything else. When our entrees arrived, they were both wrong as we had anticipated. We did not feel it was worth complaining about. Customer service did not strike us as a high priority here. The food was not bad but not good enough to return either. Admittedly, the breakfast offerings looked far better than the lunch selection. We did pass by the bakery on the way out. The girl behind the counter was much better than our server at the table. She was welcoming, smiling, attentive and helpful. The assorted baked goods we bought were once again just okay and not worth returning for. We had positive expectations for this place and did not experience that on our visit. We may return one day for breakfast but won’t be rushing back to do so.More

Omg!! This establish is amazing! All the fresh baked goods (jalapeño cheese bread, blueberry muffin) so yummy. My husband loved the clam chowder, which was the soup of the day. Just an amazing cafe to have breakfast or brunch. Everything is made homemade.

The Sunflower Cafe and Bakery never disappoints! All three of us had very tasty, fresh, and hot breakfasts, served by Ivy. She took great care of us, including bringing us some of their signature tomato soup. Do not miss this! Oh, and the strawberry butter...was just lovely. Remember to bring sweet Bakery treats with you when you go. I must say that I miss the gift shop, however I can see that the extra dining space has great value as well. We will always stop at the Sunflower at least once during our island visits.More

I can’t say enough good things about the cafe. We visited on the 4th of July and it was a very good experience. The food is plentiful, neither my wife or I finished our meal as it was so much. I had the 3egg meal...with pancakes and a cup of coffee. It was fantastic! The wait was not long at all. We parked a block away and walked over. I suggest that.More

Very busy place but for good reason. Food was fantastic and atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. We sat outside on the patio. Weather was beautiful and meal was tasty! My husband and I both had the fried coconut shrimp and fried crab cakes for an appetizer....Yum! They also have an assortment of baked goods to add to your meal or for a desert. We decided on a blueberry muffin and a pumpkin, cream cheese muffin. Those were a bit dry and wish I would have tried some cookies!More

I visited twice recently while in Galveston. Both times the food was first rate. This place gets very busy, especially on weekends. Their breakfasts, brunch and baked goods are all delicious, though I suspect they do everything well. Loved their pancakes and I picked up...a couple blueberry muffins for the road. A must for any time I’m on the island.More

I think that Sunflower will customize a cake, if by that you mean decorating one for a special occasion. Pattycakes, a couple of blocks away and also on 14th Street, does customized cakes. Both bakeries are good.
