Surprisingly good.

We only went here because it was a cold night and we were tired and it was right next to our hotel. We were greeted by a very nice waiter who took good care of us throughout the evening. I had a very generous plate of fish tacos that were served hot and tasted really good. My husband was very... read more

DEFINITELY would not eat at Tortugas cafe again. The food was cold and waxy, refried beans were pureed instead of cooked. Just overall a very unsatisfying meal!!!!!!

This was a great evening for shrimp - avocado / and bacon wrapped. It was so fantastic having a Hispanic young lady named "Leda" be our waitress. Many forget that what also makes a great evening is the one taking care of you at the table. I would recommend the time to go right after 5 pm and after having... More

It was Mardi Gras and the place was packed. About forty minute wait. That's OK, that's to be expected. Regardless, you would think management would anticipate the high volume and staff up for the occasion. We had to wait much too long to place an order and wait too long to receive it. It arrived practically cold, and wrong. No... More

We went for happy hour, but as we passed by others enjoying those heaping plates of yummy looking mexican food we had to try it for ourselves. Were we ever glad we did! I ordered combo fajitas and they were the best I ever had. My friend had a combo platter which she enjoyed tremendously and we shared a big... More

I was in town for a week on business. Had a lunch and a dinner with my groups at this restaurant. The food was on the average side. Service was good.

Food was great. Asked for a bean burrito and side of refried beans. Very tasty. However as I exited establishment I did not know about a very tall step and fell and severely twisted my ankle. There are no watch your step signs or handrails. I am lucky I did not break my ankle or hit my head.

Sometimes everything - food, service, drinks are excellent, but one can go the very next week and everything is awful. El Jefe, the manager, needs to be replaced. When Tortures was owned by Fertitta the quality was excellent every time.

I had the fish with shrimp and a cream sauce on top; it was excellent and the service was superb. Our friendly waiter took care of us and was very easy going and professional. We're going back tonight!

The tacos are on a 6-8' tortilla very good but if I had realized I would have gotten only 1. Also tried the stuffed avocado which was excellent. Finished off by sharing a plate of sopapilla the order of 6 was just right for the three of us they are a must have, save room.
