We ordered take-out, but the place has lots of room, and if we had not been so tired we would have eaten in. Pasta Primavera had a ton of vegetables (very favorable vegetable to pasta ratio).

OK Pizza, ok atmosphere, ok service. That's about all I can say, will probably try a different pizza place next time we're in Galveston.

Very, very good lunch buffet. Salad bar, two soups, 5 meat selections, vegetables , homemade pizza and of course dessert. Plus drink. All for $10, now that is a deal.

Cannot go to this restaurant and leave without pizza! Knowing that we will only be here in Galveston for two more weeks (and the last week doesn't count because we will be on a cruise) nearly drives me crazy! Their marinara sauce is awesome. It is so good, my husband orders extra for dipping his pizza in and he normally... More

Place had decent reviews, but it was that appetizing for me. My friend enjoyed her meal, I'd come back and try their pizza pies but the stuff chicken Daniela was a disappointment

We had a great lunch at Mario's and the variety of entrees was great! We originally went for their pizza but found out about their buffet for $10.99 all you can eat. I recommend the chicken dishes and their lasagna was awesome. The staff is very friendly too.

First, we all loved the bruschetta; I would come back just to order it, but the service was beyond bad. There were 8 in our party. However 3 people, after a very long wait, received their food. Over 30min later the other 5 received their food. No explanations or refilling of drink glasses during this time. It even took an... More

I took my family a few days before Xmas. Ask to sit at one of Ana's tables. She will take great care of your service. She is a sweet, hard-working, professional kid. She will keep an eye on what you need, without interrupting your conversation every five minutes. Most of our group ate from the buffet, which had a huge... More

We had lunch here yesterday. The Marios Special was excellent! I also had a locally brewed beer that was pretty good. The service was also good. I would definitely recommend Mario's for pizza and I'm sure the other dishes are quite good as well.

Thank Mike A

It all started back in 1967 when Sicilian born Giovanni Smecca decided to move to Galveston, Texas from Patterson, New Jersey after hearing Glen Campbell’s famous “Galveston” during a card game. Giovanni always dreamed of being a professional fisherman, so he decided to give it a shot and made the drive to Galveston. After battles of sea sickness, Giovanni quickly decided that the fish business wasn’t for him.Heartbroken, Giovanni was about to move back to New Jersey when he met Mario Bonaccorso who was trying to open a pizzeria. The two became great friends, and together, these two young Italian entrepreneurs started Mario’s Flying Pizza and brought the “pizza pie” to Galveston Island.Today, we are still family owned and operated and are considered a delightful, neighborhood restaurant with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We serve a wide variety of Italian cuisine and New York style pizza and strive to use fresh, seasonal, ingredients wherever possible, so come on in, sit back, relax, and enjoy a wonderful meal and a nice glass of wine at Mario’s Ristorante!
