This place has some of the best pizza on the Island. We will told to try it by several friends who vacation in Galveston who have kids. Very good service and very friendly staff. Very good food for your money. We will be back next year for sure

After a full day in the sun we were all ready for something good to eat! The only problem is that we had a lot of different taste buds to satisfy. We found the perfect place at Marios! Between the 8 of us we tried several of their pizzas, Stromboli, fettuccine Alfredo, and baked ziti. Everyone was very pleased! Service... More

After mediocre food on our trip, we tried this place with a beach view on our last night! My son and I ordered alfredo and my husband got the hand tossed hamburger pizza. The food was amazing. It was by far the best food on our trip. Our waiter, Julian, was very attentive, and we were seated very quickly. We... More

Food was excellent!!! A wide variety of the menu was sampled & everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Friendly staff. Delivery to our condo for our family of 21 was prompt.

I had the lobster ravioli, amazing! Seafood was fresh and plentiful and the sauce was divine. I cleaned the plate with the complimentary bread. Had the chocolate eruption - chocolate cake stuffed with turtle cheesecake cubes for dessert and WOW...will definitely go back.

Now if you want decent service with high priced, low quality food. I found your place. The host and servers were great, really looking after us. Lunch for three (we did not have the buffet) was expensive, over $70. The food. It really tasted like they pulled it off the buffet line. Was bland, over cooked pasta that was nothing... More

Lunch buffet has a very small variety of food. The food quality and taste is just ok for the price.. dessert was below average..

After going out all week, found this place and that they deliver. Good pasta and shrimp poboy. Wings are good too, taste of bbq and a little hot sauce so not spicy at all. Chocolate cake was good, but key lime pie was lacking flavor and tartness. Quick delivery and order was correct. Nice as a change while there.

The service is very friendly. But the PIZZA!!! Wow! I could eat here everyday! The pizza (and choices) were amazing! The decor is cute "old world" pizzeria style that felt very homey. They have a giant pizza to feed a crowd and the people next to us that got it said it was just as yummy as the small ones.... More

I have been eating pizza from this location since i was 10 years old. The pizza is so good the crust is thin and very fantastic. I will keep eating at this location forever. I am 44 now. Still the best pizza i have ever had.

It all started back in 1967 when Sicilian born Giovanni Smecca decided to move to Galveston, Texas from Patterson, New Jersey after hearing Glen Campbell’s famous “Galveston” during a card game. Giovanni always dreamed of being a professional fisherman, so he decided to give it a shot and made the drive to Galveston. After battles of sea sickness, Giovanni quickly decided that the fish business wasn’t for him.Heartbroken, Giovanni was about to move back to New Jersey when he met Mario Bonaccorso who was trying to open a pizzeria. The two became great friends, and together, these two young Italian entrepreneurs started Mario’s Flying Pizza and brought the “pizza pie” to Galveston Island.Today, we are still family owned and operated and are considered a delightful, neighborhood restaurant with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We serve a wide variety of Italian cuisine and New York style pizza and strive to use fresh, seasonal, ingredients wherever possible, so come on in, sit back, relax, and enjoy a wonderful meal and a nice glass of wine at Mario’s Ristorante!
