We have been visiting this fine establishment for years and have never, ever been disappointed! More recently we have opted to visit the downtown location because the older place is often crowded and, for the record, much of that crowd is composed of locals. Yes,...this is truly a place where the locals go and, since, we live on the island part-time, I consider myself a semi-local. The gumbo is exceptional, the shrimp salad is among the best I have ever eaten and, trust me, I have consumed vast amounts of shrimp in my lifetime, and finally, the fried crab claws are both unique and really tasty. During our latest visit the service was exceptional, food was excellent (as always), and it was a great experience all around! They also have a nice selection of draft beer at the downtown location as well.More

We always go to Shrimp N Stuff at least once during every trip to Galveston. We arrived in Galveston a few hours before check in time, so we ordered a catfish and shrimp platter to go and ate it at picnic tables along the seawall...(we had our dog with us). We really enjoyed the catfish filets and fried shrimp and it stayed hot for the short trip to the seawall. My only regret was not getting ketchup for the fries! We stayed in Jamaica Beach so we also checked out the food truck but didn't end of eating there since we wanted catfish rather than Tilapia.More

This place has slipped a little since our last visit a couple of years ago. Don't get me wrong, we still ate there three times during a two-week visit. It is cheap compared to seawall places, and I like the unpretentious atmosphere. However, they need...to do more to ensure the food is as hot as possible when it leaves the kitchen. Though their hush puppies are excellent, they were served lukewarm several times. They really need to work on this. The weak, watery, near-flavorless, non-spicy gumbo is not a good value, since it contains a lot of water, some overcooked okra, and about two and half shrimp. Luckily, there was Tabasco nearby which managed to save it. If you don't want to spend the money down at the beach, this is still a good value.More

Had stuffed shrimp were huge tasty. The...fish & the shrimp taco were both good as well. Only thing most item were fried, would have like more boil or steam type food.More

I had the shrimp platter. It was excellent. Every meal I've ever had here has been excellent! I'll probably go back again today!

Food was average at best. It is glorified fast food. Nothing tasted fresh. I had the coconut shrimp with the crab balls. The tasted like they came from the freezer. I I was hoping for much better since I am on the gulf which is...know for the shrimp. I would not recommend!More

Nothing fancy here, just good, fresh seafood in a clean, relaxed atmosphere. Cold beer, reasonable prices, and I hear the desserts are good too.

Great set up and visulation of how to steam prepare some of the best rice and seafood combos we have had in the area. Galveston continues to suprise us everytime we visit. The service was a bit dodgy but pleasant. Sat at the bar (due...to covid spacing) and enjoyed a wonderful bowl of really, really good seafood gumbo. Great for lunch or a mid afternoon major snack attack. Enjoy!More

My wife and I stopped here on 4/1/21 for takeout. After noticing the "out door" dining area, decided to eat there. "Out door" is a covered patio with a few large tables for groups or large families. They even allow you to bring your "on...leash" pet. We both order the popcorn shrimp since some reviews said that was the best. Not sure those folks ever had really good popcorn shrimp before - found this shrimp to be overly battered and cooked too long. However I did find their shrimp gumbo to be excellent.More
