This restaurant was recommended by another couple staying at our B&B. The line was out the door and we almost left; I am sure glad we didn't. The wait wasn't long at all, the food was spectacular (we both ordered pasta dishes), made fresh to order and lots of it. Really great restaurant.
What could be more comforting for a Sunday breakfast like shrimp and grits? The grits was warm and buttery and the shrimp were plump and pink. Great coffee and great service. TIP: Get here early in the morning and read menu online so you know what you want as it is order first, pay, then sit down and not the... More
We heard from many of the guests at the RV Resort that this needed to be on our list of places to visit in Galveston. Fresh local food that is certainly not ordinary or boring. Charming decor and friendly helpful staff along with a delightful patio compliment the extraordinary selections on their menu.
I've been to this restaurant a few times. Consistently good. Nice, clean atmosphere. Unusual specials of the day. Today I ordered the fish du hour, which was redfish with mango salsa. The gumbo was excellent. Eating on the outside porch is a bit buggy but nice with the two wall fountains.
Order from the counter, waiter delivers. Good food, large portions. Steak sandwich was very good but bread would be better and of smaller size, a real bageutte would be nice.

The corn chowder was too sweet, the special for Mardi Gras muffaletta had a lot of bread and not much olive tapenade and the almost reuben wasn't enjoyable either. After stating all of this, I would probably go back... More
I asked a foodie group on facebook where to take 18 people for lunch in Galveston. The majority of the people said Mosquito Cafe, and they did not disappoint. It took awhile to get 18 people through the counter service to order but everyone was relaxed as they waited to order. We got our food in a timely manner. They... More
Went to the Mosquito Cafe for lunch with my family 2/1/2017 after reading fabulous reviews on Trip Advisor. We waited in line for 20 minutes to order the food from a surly counter person. Lunch arrived quickly enough, but they may as well have kept it. Not a single member of our family finished their meal. I ordered a chicken... More
