We really enjoyed the food at Mosquito Cafe! I had the Shrimp Cake burger with broccoli pasta salad - very good, the salad was wonderful!! Husband had the Rosemary Shrimp Alfredo, was delicious but really needed some bread to go with it. Our only disappointment was the staff. As 1st timers, we were at a loss as to how things work and no one offered to help us out. The lady that took our order seemed to care less if we were there or not, offered zero assistance, just smiled at our questions??? Our waitress was very cordial and was the onle person we encountered the whole time we were there that actually seemed to care about us. Bought cookies on our way out, they were delicious! We will definitely go back, just hope they will find their Texas friendliness by then.

The Mosquito Eggs Benedict comes on a toasted croissant, with two poached eggs, asparagus, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, and grilled shrimp. My husband describes it as “fresh and delicious”. Mine was the Crab Mosquito with crab substituted for shrimp. The strong flavors of artichoke and asparagus overwhelmed the crab. My apple salad was a simple chopped apple, pecan, and whipped cream-type dressing—not a salad I would order again. My husband’s cheese grits were a little dry.over all it was a good and very different breakfast. Many other options are available. It as also pricey—nearly $50 for two people—two entrees, 1 coffee, 1 juice.

Me and my husband were only in Galveston for three nights and we ended up going to Mosquito cafe for three meals while there, it was sooo good! We each tried different things each time and everything tasted so good! Some of our favorites were the Napa Salad, Island Slammer, and the Bacon Cheese Burger. The service is amazing as well, they are very kind and fast! They are always busy, but we never waited more than maybe 10 minutes to get our food. We HIGHLY recommend this place!

I'm a fan of this restaurant, but my latest experience was disappointing. We decided to eat at the Mosquito for our first indoor dining experience in a year. As we walked in, the menu board offered a fish special for about $15.99. That sounded good, but we wanted to look at the menu as there was no menu posted anywhere. We were told to take a seat, look on our cell phones at the menu, and come back and order. After about 5 minutes of browsing the online menu, we went back to place our order for the fish special, only to be told it was too late; that was not available after five. "But we just saw It in the board," we said. It was now about 5:05. We went and looked again and a new board had been posted over the other one. We settled for something else from the menu and it took our food 30 minutes to arrive, even though there were few people in the place. My thoughts: Staff at the register was rude, service slow, and the menu is tired and hasn't changed much over the past few years. Prices slightly high for what you get. Overall disappointing and there are better choices of places to eat.

First, I get that people are nervous about the dreaded plague but it’s not an excuse to be rude. Upon entering someone barked at us to use sanitizer, no hello or welcome. Then when went to order the cashier barked at my kids to not touch any tables other the one we would sit at. The kids hadn’t left my side at that point and are teenagers not toddlers. There is a polite way to speak to someone and it’s I’ll advised to bark at someone’s children, especially if they haven’t done anything. We took our number and sat down and waited for our food. The music playing included profanities and a few “N” words, certainly not my idea of breakfast music. I drank my one cup of coffee, knowing I obviously wasn’t going to be privy to a refill since service wasn’t an obvious priority. The food arrived and was fine, not great, not bad, just fine. I had great meals all over Galveston during our trip and this was the one place that truly disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback. We're really sorry that your initial impression was rudeness that is definitely not how we want to interact with our guests. We apologize for the cashier's heightened sensitivity, we are working very hard to assure guest and staff health/safety but always need to keep good service as one of our priorities. We have filters set on the music selection to exclude profanities because it is a commercial music service. We will investigate the service and make sure noting offensive is playing, we're terribly sorry and have taken care of it. You can have as many cups of coffee as you'd like, as a staff member is passing by they will definitely get you another cup of coffee. We pride ourselves on providing great food, a great setting, and a great overall experience. We're sorry we fell short for you, we have taken corrective actions and hope that you'll visit us again soon. Thank you again for your feedback.

Went in for lunch on a Saturday and had to wait about 30 minutes to get into the building to order. It is very popular for its breakfast which is served until 2 pm You order at the counter and than take a seat. The servers bring the food to your table. Have a great selection of cookies, bars, and other baked good. Also have a good selection of wine, and local beer. The food is good,I got the fish special which was the grilled redfish with sautéed vegetable and side salad. The fish was good, not a lot of flavor, the vegetable were fresh and sautéed nicely. the side salad was fresh and i really enjoyed the dressing on it. My husband got a burger, which he thought good have been cooked a little longer with a cup of their chicken tortilla soup. He really liked the soup. Serves was good and people very friendly. Nice outdoor eating area.

I haven't been here in about four years, but remembered it for being flavorful and fresh. This morning I walked there from my VRBO rental & ordered the crab omelet & was so disappointed in the flavor & lack of freshness. The menu states that besides crab it has artichoke hearts & "fresh asparagus". Not only was there no asparagus, the canned artichokes were so strongly pickley tasting that it overpowered the crab. Other than that flavor, the omelet & potatoes were bland & not seasoned at all. When I asked about the lack of asparagus I was told they just scooped a mixed vegetable assortment mix to add in the omelet. So much for fresh! Very much feel I wasted my money here. The service & staff were good but won't be returning due to high priced mediocre food.

First visit was a pleasant surprise for it provided a great family experience with its design. Order Crab Benedict and pancakes with bacon. My side was Apple Pecan salad their recipe was good and different then other. Cheese grits wasn't my least favorite lack salt and taste of cheese. Good service and food portion size great. Great desert options. Prices are reasonable and I would recommend.

Have been coming to the island for years and somehow hadn’t eaten at Mosquito until this past weekend. Holy geez, we were missing a lot. Staff was super friendly and helpful with picking what to eat. Atmosphere was cozy and we felt at ease in-spite of COVID-19 restrictions. They real star is definitely the food though. The menu has a true variety that is sure to please everyone. The Thai Chicken Chicken Salad was super fresh and tasty. That peanut sauce is addicting! The Triple Cheese Mac was creamy and rich tasting. Topped it with chicken for a plate of awesome comfort. Whatever do, be sure to order dessert. The homemade treats from Patty Cakes Bakery are out of this world. We enjoyed our meals so much that we came the following morning for breakfast! The Nancy Bet-C and the Corned Beef Hash Tacos exceeded our expectations. Flavors were absolutely on point. Best breakfast we’ve had on the island. Mosquito has quickly earned a spot in our dining out rotation.

My husband and i went on a Tuesday morning and arrived about 20 minutes after it opened. We had to wait about 15 min to place our order. The order arrived promptly and we really enjoyed the food. I had the cinamon raison bread and the apple salad, which was made in a great mix that went on the bread. I also had an omelette that was very good. My husband had a pancake stack that was excellent. The service was great. Our only negative comment was the coffee; it was OK, but we had the bottom of the pot and it was a bit stale. Otherwise, great place!!

I asked for vegeterian omlette without bell pepper, so they told me to order the bacon omlette without the bacon. I got the dish and it included bell pepper so I asked them to change it to what i ordered from the first place. Than I got the new dish and it included bacon🤦‍♀️ How can you trust the employees in a place like that? At least we got creditted and I got another omlette but I was not hungry anymore...

We came in out of a thunderstorm and the cafe was almost empty. No greeting. Sat at table for 10 minutes before being told we had to order at the counter. At these prices we didn't expect "self service" nor chewy bacon nor soggy "roasted" potatoes. Like the weather, a big disappointment.

The staff was helpful and the kitchen seemed to do a good job accommodating our vegan orders, very appreciated. The food wasn't awesome, but wasn't bad. The Thai noodles (cold side) were the best of what we had. The portobello sandwich was a bit bland, and the Senagalese vegetable platter was interesting but also a bit bland.

This is a small restaurant and while there is absoloutekly nothing wrong, in fact we stopped for coffee in the morning, there is also noting to set it apart from small resturants in amny different cities and towns. The bakery items are made next door and delivered to the Cafe. When again in Galveston we would most likely stop, however, it would not be a must do,

Had the cold shrimp skewer and Thai salad. It was tasty but totally drenched in balsamic vinegar. Not the peanut sauce listed on the menu. The BBQ pork was good, but we had to remind the servers to bring cole slaw. It was pricey, $41, but there was plenty of food once you added in the dessert. Terrible service. Our food sat in the kitchen window for 5 minutes while all the wait staff stood around looking at their phones. The order takers were just that- very little personality or friendliness. This place is fine if you just want to run in for dessert but there are plenty of better restaurants for that kind of money.
