Texas monthly wasn't kidding when they said this burger place was a gem. Juicy, flavor filled meat, grated cheddar cheese, piles with toppings on a fresh bun. Eclectic hole in the wall surroundings with a quaint self serve beverage bar. Worth ever calorie. French fries would have been perfect with malt vinegar, but you'll need to bring your own. I... Hidden gem glad this place was recommended to me. I would have never known it existed. Had the roasted garlic and goat cheese appetizer then the cover burger and it was so good and huge.

I loved driving the two lane road to get after one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was special because it was uncomplicated but complex with the just the right ratio of everthing. Do yourself a favor and get you assets over there.

Best food in the area, way better than those downtown places in Fredericksburg. The burgers are legendary. My wife and I split a burger (half-pound), fried mushrooms and the half fries/onion rings. Way more than we can eat. Try the grilled onions on your burger and the jalapeno cheese bun is the best!

Home cooking at its best!! I had the best cheeseburger I've ever had! You can add extras like blue cheese, sauteed onions, roasted garlic, jalapenos and more! Onion rings are crispy with a peppery batter and delicious! They have a very diverse menu and homemade deserts. I would definitely go back!

We ate here before the bats emerged from Old Tunnel State Park at dusk. It's in the middle of nowhere but well worth the drive. Great homemade burgers and buns. The fried homemade chips and onion rings are amazing. You help yourself to a good selection of beer and there is music on the weekends. Great place to go and... More

Great place to go to get out of town and get great food. It is a very nice and peaceful place. The bat tunnel is right next door and its fun to go late and watch them fly. The hamburgers are their call to fame, but I love their shrimp and chicken fried steaks too.

My wife and I were doing the hill country in a day. My only stipulations was a burger here. It is definitely worth all the driving. It is definitely a GREAT burger. A must try for any serious carnivore. Only piece of advice make sure you know what you want when the waitress comes by, they are busy.

Remote to the normal highway traffic, but a really popular venue. Go before you are actually hungry. Located about 12 off the highway, set aside time for your drive and expect about a 45 minute wait from the time you arrive until your food is on the table. THIS PLACE IS BUSY. Servers were friendly and food was excellent. We... More
