Alamo Springs Cafe fits the definition of "off the beaten path." It's address says "Fredericksburg," but it's really closer to Luckenbach. It sits next to Old Tunnel State Park, which is a good place to watch bats in the summer. Set your Waze app to find it and you should have no problem. Once you get there, you have a... More

There is nothing NOT to like about this place! Amazing hamburgers and fries and the beer is cold and plentiful! Don't go here if you are in a hurry, but it's well worth the wait!!

We went to the ASC two nights running. Had the burgers and onion rings. Excellent food. Huge array of beers in the fridge which you help yourself to. We'd heard stories of long waits for food, but we certainly didn't experience this. Food prompt, hot and delicious. This is literally right next to the Old Tunnel State Park and a... More

Neat place to go for a hamburger and onion rings. A large selection of drinks and bottled beers. Nice country drive will bring you to the Alamo Cafe for a relaxing lunch. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Try it and add another experience to life.

Visited with adult family and it was fun and delicious. Couldn't believe the adult beverages were self serve on the honor system!

One of the best burgers by far! Wee had the spicy fried beans for an appetizer and they were incredible. We will definitely be back.

Texas monthly wasn't kidding when they said this burger place was a gem. Juicy, flavor filled meat, grated cheddar cheese, piles with toppings on a fresh bun. Eclectic hole in the wall surroundings with a quaint self serve beverage bar. Worth ever calorie. French fries would have been perfect with malt vinegar, but you'll need to bring your own. I... Hidden gem glad this place was recommended to me. I would have never known it existed. Had the roasted garlic and goat cheese appetizer then the cover burger and it was so good and huge.

I loved driving the two lane road to get after one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was special because it was uncomplicated but complex with the just the right ratio of everthing. Do yourself a favor and get you assets over there.

Best food in the area, way better than those downtown places in Fredericksburg. The burgers are legendary. My wife and I split a burger (half-pound), fried mushrooms and the half fries/onion rings. Way more than we can eat. Try the grilled onions on your burger and the jalapeno cheese bun is the best!

Thank Brad H
