The food is very good. The have a nice selection of desserts. The portions were plentiful .A good variety of menu choices. One thing to remember is they do not take most credit cards. Cash, check, and 2 credit cards. Check the front door on what they take.

Having family from Germany, this place is close as you can get to authentic German food. Service was good and food was promptly brought to the table

This is restaurant is located in downtown Fredericksburg, a wonderfully attractive, small German town in the Hill Country of Texas. The restaurant is quite small and has a very inviting feel to it. The atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming. I was with 5 other people at the time I visited so many different menu items were ordered. Some of... More

We had lunch at the Der Lindenbaum. The food was average at best; my schnitzel was aver cooked and my wife's soup was served at room temp (after she had asked for very hot soup). The service was slow and spotty at best. My wife had to track down our server twice during the meal-once to ask for bread (... More

We enjoyed our schnitzel, but the mushroom "gravy" was very heavy and overwhelmed the pork cutlet, which was delicious. Beer options are very expensive. And worst of all: They accept only Discover and Am Ex, neither of which we had. To be fair this was posted on the door, but we didn't notice. Luckily they accept cash (which we had)... More

We started our trip off the first night with authentic german food - and picked the best place for it! I won't attempt to spell what we head - both having different dishes - but it was wonderful. Quiet atmosphere - charming and relaxing.

My absolute favorite restaurant! Can never go wrong coming here to eat. The staff and owner are very nice and the food is the best in Texas! (Which also means the world)

Efficient, but not overdone service, food a cut above, menu a bit small Relatively small restaurant, parking on Main limited in the area is the only drawback.

Fredericksburg was one of the places where large percentages of German immigrants settled in Texas. Harkening back to that heritage, Der Lindenbaum serves up what I would call German style food. Now, I've been to Germany and traveled all around there. I like Germany. That said, nobody goes there for the food. Der Lindenbaum does a decent job of producing... More
