My wife and I ate here after getting a recommendation. Very authentic German food and really tasty. Great place!

Efficient, but not overdone service, food a cut above, menu a bit small Relatively small restaurant, parking on Main limited in the area is the only drawback.

Fredericksburg was one of the places where large percentages of German immigrants settled in Texas. Harkening back to that heritage, Der Lindenbaum serves up what I would call German style food. Now, I've been to Germany and traveled all around there. I like Germany. That said, nobody goes there for the food. Der Lindenbaum does a decent job of producing... More

This little oasis has a pretty little interior and has the feel of a small German village restaurant. The beer selection is pretty decent, and the food hearty and good. The service is efficient.

We had the jäger schnitzel with red cabbage and potatoes. I ate the whole plate...should have stopped well before that but it was too good!

We decided to visit this restuarant while in Fredericksburg because we wanted our kids to get a taste of German cuisine. Which brings me to the positive aspects of our visit. First of all, the atmosphere was charming, clean, and stayed true to the german heritage of the town. The food was also very tasty and provided the culteral cuisine... More

My wife and I had dinner on July 1, 2016 here based on the write up on-line stating that the chef was genuinely capable and trained in overseas kitchens to provide superb german cuisine. The White Bean soup came immediately and barely warm and nothing special. The Weiner Schnitzel also came within minutes from order and it was also not... More

So disappointed that my good memories of this restaurant have been ruined. Stopped for lunch on the way through town a year after our first visit. Ordered the special of the day - a Reuben, I know that I a used to NJ diners but this was no Reuben. Two thin slices of deli meat (not real corned beef) on... More

We could not wait to get to Fredericksburg to eat some great German food. The atmosphere at Der Lindenbaum was nice, but service was really bad. I had ordered a salad to go with my meal. It never arrived and we could not get the waitress's attention. She seemed to be avoiding eye contact and spent her time chatting with... More

We just wanted a light and quick lunch so even though the traditional German selections looked very good, we had the daily lunch special which was a craba nd shrimp pasta salad. It was perfect. It included fresh greens, bow tie pasta, a very light dressing, shrimp, cucumber, fresh tomato slices, and crab meat. All three of us enjoyed it.... More
