We stopped here for dinner. We were initially surprised by their limited menu. It seems like the place is more of a bar than a restaurant although they offer a decent variety of food items. My wife had lamb lollipops that she liked a lot. I had a salad that was very good and chicken tacos which weren’t. The tacos were overstuffed with cole slaw which made them extremely sloppy and overwhelmed the chicken. It was impossible to eat them by hand, The bar is very impressive with a wide variety of high-end liquors. Service was excellent.

We picked Chase's for a "late" weeknight dinner option. Unfortunately, everything in FBG shuts down early, so we found ourselves crunched for time trying to find dinner before everything shut down. Live music outside and the weather was pleasant, staff was knowledgable and the food came out quickly. The cocktails were great, the food was very good, and the live music was outstanding. Absolutely would go back.

We'd worked a very long day and were beat. A local recommeded Chase's Place and we arrived about 8:30pm. The shrimp and grits were delicious as was the California cab and chococlate cake for dessert. The server was indifferent but attentive enough. The best part was that we weren't rushed out to give up our table -- thank you for that. The music was a bit too loud though and made it tough for us to even hear each other.

We looked at their menu online, and decided it was a good choice for the vegetarian in our group, and possibly even our vegan. The rest of our group is meat eaters and there was plenty of options there. We called to see if we could get on the wait list on a Thursday evening but they do not take any prebooks at all, and the wait time was 1-2 hours. The next time we arrived shortly after 4 pm which is when they open. We were a party of 7 plus a one year old. It was starting to rain, but we were told the only place they could seat a party that large was outdoors (which is not covered). They could only accommodate a party up to 6 indoors, so after the host discouraging us multiple times, he finally agreed to split out party into a table for 4 and a table for 5. Talk about having to beg to eat in their restaurant. The menu is limited, which is understandable for a smaller restaurant but they were out of lobster, which was in two of their dishes, and the lamb pops wouldn’t be ready for more than an hour. So it basically cut the menu in half. Two of our group had the ettouffee, but the rice was undercooked, and the stew itself lacked depth of flavor. The vegan was looking forward to the chopped salad, but it ended up being just lettuce, cucumber and red onion after she had the cheese left off. So I could call that a side salad, not an actual chopped salad. She enjoyed the French fries as a starter and to fill her up luckily. The Mac and cheese (minus the lobster) was delicious as was the mushroom stroganoff. The vegetarian was happy, and I myself had the short ribs on the mushroom stroganoff and the short ribs were tender, moist and flavorful. Very good. The cocktails were very good as well. There were some very good points to the food in this restaurant and the waitress was great. But we wouldn’t go back, as we didn’t feel welcomed in the first place. Oh and they don’t have high chairs, so they definitely aren’t welcoming to families. We spent well over $300, and were out quicker then most people seated at the same time but perhaps they don’t need our business. We had barely stood up when the busboy dove in to clear our table.

We returned with friends, but it was not as good this time. The lamb lollipops were very fatty (and prepared more medium-rare than medium as ordered). Our dinners came out at different times, and the food on one plate was cold. So, we weren't impressed with the food, but the cocktails were good. The prices have gone up noticeably... seemed high to all of us (and we're used to fine dining).

We stopped in for cocktails and snacks when we saw people dining here outdoors; it was easy walking from our hotel. We were told there are no reservations; indoors was crowded, but we were immediately seated at a table for two outside. We had the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Quail, Lamb Lollipops, Tuna Tataki Salad, Tiramisu, and of course some cocktails. Everything was very fresh and delicious, especially the drinks. Service was friendly, we even got a visit from a curious rooster that appeared to have flown the coop.

We're locals and returned. We were a bit disappointed last time, but this time our dinners were delicious! The best gnocchi I've ever had and my husband's penne pasta with shrimp was scrumptious. Wonderful cocktails... they really know what they're doing. Excellent friendly service. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Parking on street.

My wife and I are local, but have not been dining out much...for obvious reasons. We had heard a couple of very positive comments from friends and decided to give Chase’s Place a try. Excellent move! The bacon wrapped quail breast appetizer was just superb, enhanced greatly by homemade peach habanero jam (more on that in a moment). My wife got the pulled pork fries, with the cheese sauce on the side, as she is gluten sensitive. The pork was excellent- tender and flavorful. The fries were a bit unexpected, as these are more like small fried wedges. Really good, regardless. My entree was the street tacos. The steak was very tender, and the chimichurri really complemented the meat. I would make one simple suggestion. Ask for a small side of that great peach habanero jam and drizzle it on these tacos. The combination is transcendent. Finally, we split a slice of truly excellent cheesecake. You know, the type you know and love...and rarely get? Needless to say, we’ll be going back to Chase’s Place on a regular basis.

Even though we got to the restaurant before they were actually open for food, the waitress made some appetizers available to us early. We had the Bacon Wrapped Quail and Parmesan Scooped Fries. Delicious. Definitely a place to visit. Also had a Bloody Mary and Margarita, very tasty.

My wife and I stopped by this lovely little bar for some drinks and some light noms. We absolutely loved it - the bar staff was warm and friendly, the drinks were unique and on point, and the food was delicious - compliments to the chef! It was great to meet Chase, the owner, and he even mixed up a few cocktails for us - love seeing an owner who's involved in their establishment and takes pride in their work. Don't miss out on this spot!

Horrible service. Waitress clueless and rolled her eyes when we ordered two appetizers. Entrees served 10 minutes apart. Gnocchi undercooked and way too much salt. Will NEVER be back, probably a top 5 “ worst experience”. Absolutely terrible. Have NEVER left a sub 20% tip- but first time for everything.

Our hotel was behind Chase's so we would pass the restaurant often and it just seemed inviting - which it was. Rebecca was our server at our small high top table just inside the door (great seat) as we nibbled our way through cocktails and dinner. The overall mood in the restaurant was happy - great ambience with food and service to match.

We literally stumbled into this place. It was right across the street from our hotel (Fredericksburg Inn and Suites). What a delightful find. Our waiter, the manager, and the owner all made us feel at home. We had the lamb chops the street tacos and two specialty cocktails. Everything was well prepared and delicious. The owner being a former bartender maintains a great bar selection. Located just a block off Main Street in an old house , has a very comfortable feel. We will definitely be back. These folks opened the restaurant in 2020 and have endured through the pandemic God bless them!

Stopped in here for a quick pre-dinner drink on the recommendation of our Uber driver, and thought it was great. Very comfortable and homely seating area adjacent to the bar, and the staff were super-friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Didn't have cocktails but the drinks we did have were great. Good find!

Best restaurant in Fredericksburg!! Cocktails were exceptional! The spicy margarita was just the right amount of spicy. We ordered the Parmesan cheese truffle fries and the snow crab claws(special) for starters. Our entrees were the street tacos and the elk(another special) and we capped it off with tiramisu! Our waitress recommended the digestif, which of course, we obliged.
