Very popular place but worth the wait. Sardines might find it a bit packed with tables and people but I'd go back if we're ever in Fredericksburg again. Peggy had the Belgium Waffle and I had eggs, Emma's sausage and hash browns. They pack the plate with oh so good food! I started with the eggs but dashed into the... More

If you are visiting Fredricksburg and need a place to eat a great breakfast, or get a loaf of bread to go with the meat you bought at the smoke shack, then the Old German Bakery is your place! Reasonably priced and spot on with their selection and choices, the Old German Bakery is worth the stop. It's where the... More

It's been a couple of years. Sorry to say very disappointed. Coffee weak. My pancakes were cold, so cold the butter didn't melt on them. I was so looking forward to going again too. We arrived about 730. Place was busy, but there were open tables. Doesn't explain cold pancakes and really weak coffee.

It's a very traditional German restaurant with German food. It's a bakery too. We had a nice table by the window. Service was satisfactory food was good but we'd expected outstanding from the reviews, but it was good.

This is our favorite breakfast stop. You can get American or German breakfast dishes. We love to bring home bakery items such as a fresh loaf of pumpernickel bread and pastries. Affordable and delicious.

The Old German Bakery and Restaurant was the perfect place to experience new food. My husband and I could have easily shared a plate because the food servings were very generous. I recommend the Opas sausage breakfast special. There is a wait for breakfast but it's worth it. Definitely recommend it!

If you are looking for good food for lunch then stop in here. It is nothing fancy but the food is really good. The onion rings are wonderful and the sandwiches are very good. The prices are reasonable along with the good service.
