The Fredericksburg brewing Company has become one of our must eat at places when we are in Fredericksburg. The food and service have always been excellent. Today’s server - Gaelyn - was exceptional….very personable and professional//efficient. She even got my husband’s sense of humor! So...when you stop in, be sure to ask for Gaelyn….you will be glad you didMore

We booked a room for one night in January 2024 to attend a wedding at the Contigo Ranch. The rooms looked nice and adequate for one night for us. We contacted the host/website via email on 4/9/24 to request an early check in at 12:00...or 1:00 for the arrival date. The reply indicated that we should call the morning of 4/13 to confirm whether our request was available or not. I made multiple calls that morning, prior and up to 10:00 AM, and only received an answering machine to leave a message. Without a response, we decided to leave Austin at 12:00 for Fredericksburg. Upon arrival to FBC at 1:30, we inquired at the hostess desk, per the website’s instructions and the email we received, about an early check in. The hostess’ rude reply was they were in the middle of a lunch rush and couldn’t check us in early or not. We decided to eat at the FBC and see if the lunch rush would subside. The tables were mostly occupied, but not to the point of an excessive wait. During our meal, the hostess came to our table and inquired to our name and room selection. Again, we gave our name and room selection. She said she was multi-tasking. After completing our meal and watching a TV. We decided to try and check in again. Again, even after we walk the room hallway at about 2:20, the excuse was they didn’t know if the cleaning service was done and they were still in a lunch rush. We waited outside until 2:45. We approached the hostess again and were told it’s still a lunch rush. We said it’s 15 minutes prior to your online stated check in time. Is it that difficult. The hostess immediately handed the key to my wife and asked her to fill out the registration paper. When my wife inquired about adding the license plate information, the hostess replied we don’t need that from you. I never have written a thorough negative review of any retail service organization before this one. Thank you for your time. Richard Gift P.S. you really should provide a coffee maker in each room and have ice available on the room floor.More

Had an awesome late lunch here. We did have a bit of a wait even at 2:30 pm! So we bought a beer and headed to the Biergarten to wait to be called to our table. Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed, I suspect the...busyness of lunch was taking its toll. My German food was plentiful and delicious. I ordered Jager schnitzel and my husband ordered the Schiknen schnitzel. His had ham and cheese on it.More

I loved in atmosphere as though I am sitting in a brewery! Just stopped in for drinks. The beers are nothing to write home about but there are all styles. I think the beer to recommend is El Hefe which is a Bavarian style wheat...beer. The blonde is fairly non descript and the honey ale has a bit more character, Definitely worth a stop.More

Food was very good. Waitress, Erica O. wasn’t very friendly or attentive. Prices were good except for the $14 for the bowl of potato soup! Wow, that was a surprise. They do know how to do potatoes. Good fries, soup and potato salad. Sandwiches good...too. Just wish Ruben had been grilled to melt the cheese.More

My daughters and I were having a girls' getaway and stopped here for an early dinner after visiting the Nimitz. We all enjoyed our food and the girls enjoyed their beer flight. We will definitely return if back in the area.

The pastrami sandwich was excellent, but the catfish was just so-so (too much heavy breading... could hardly taste the fish). Love the beer and atmosphere. Very attractive building. Friendly staff and good prices. Street parking.

We found this place while walking around Fredericksburg. We wanted an adult beverage with our lunch and had trouble finding a place that didn't only have beer and wine. We were surprised that the brewery had a full bar. We had a great lunch! We...were so glad we found the place. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly. My fried shrimp was great too, and there was enough of them to share with my hubby in exchange for bites of his steak.More

This is a very good brew pub with very good beer and decent food. As the oldest brew pub in Texas, it had a number of good beers to offer. We considered getting a flight to taste, but instead went for the Oktoberfest, which is...pretty close to what we’ve had in Munich. For dinner with started with a hot pretzel to share (yum) and then my wife had a fajita salad, and I had Jagerschnitzel. The schnitzel was good, but the gravy was dense and lacked flavor. Both meals were huge and we couldn’t eat them all. So, go for the beer, get something to eat, and it’s not too expensive. Not superb, but very good.More

We never made reservations. I don't think you need them. It should not be too crowded unless you are there on a week-end.

It's street parking on Main St. and the side streets. During the week, parking isn't bad. But, you may have to walk further on a weekend.

Yes, please call the restaurant. They may have special menu not on the website. They have an excellent location on Main right in the midst of town in a lovely old building with courtyard out back.
