Went for brunch, chairs had old food remnants, brushed them off, bad sign #1, Ignored for first 15 minutes while the wait staff was setting up for party, finally waitress arrived looking disheveled. Asked for water, arrived 15 minutes later, food arrived, couldn't get silverware,...napkins ,or condiments because waitress disappeared again, went to get our own, could see waitress in kitchen praying with her phone. Hollandaise sauce I ordered and paid 2.50 for never arrived, and when I asked, was served cold in a plastic cup. Asked for the manager, he was rude and indifferent, have come often to Fixture, managers response was inappropriate. Rude, pretentious, get over yourselves!More

We went here with friends after church because I'd read good things about Fixture. When we got there my wife told me we'd been there before with our dinner group. But I think she must have gone without me that month because I don't remember...it. Or it could be that we've been going out with that group for many years and I've forgotten. Regardless, I hit a home run with this pick today. After being asked if we had a reservation and saying we didn't we were asked to wait while they got a table ready. That was pretty funny since the whole front room was empty save for three tables. After waiting about 5 minutes we were seated about 10 feet from where we were standing. That didn't start things off on the right foot but it got better. Our server was nice and not nearly as snooty as the guy at the door. I like beets and decided to try the Texas Beet Fries for an appetizer. Wow! That was the best thing I ate. They were very lightly crusted and served with a mildly spicy aioli and a little container with a pepita chili limon mixture. So you took a beet chunk, dipped it in the aioli and then in the dry mix. It was outstanding. It was a large serving and I only ate half but we brought the rest home. Had I known it was as good as it was, I'd have had that alone and been completely happy. Our friends got an order of fried crawfish balls. They were good as hushpuppies go and there was a hint of crawfish flavor but if you are expecting any discernible pieces of crawfish, don't bother. Those too were served with the spicy aioli. My wife had the avocado toast. I thought about having that but glad I didn't. She said it was very good. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly but everything was hidden under a generous portion of mixed greens and I don't like weeds on my food. My buddy and I each had The Big Tex. A biscuit (that my friend thought was excellent and he's a southern boy that's picky about biscuits), fried chicken, cheddar cheese, bacon, a fried egg and jalapeno cream gravy. And it was as good as it sounds. And it was a lot. More than enough to make a meal without the beet fries or the crawfish balls. Definitely not on the low carb, low fat diet but absolutely delicious. His wife had the fish and chips. She said the fries were excellent and she is very picky about french fries. The girls had Mimosas. They both like them and they were very reasonably priced at $3.50. We all loved the food. We had a fly that harassed us throughout our meal but the food was so good that you could hardly blame it. This is one of those places that I'd return to without hesitation.More

Went for a rehearsal dinner with a group of about 50. Food was good, service was understaffed and very slow. Was also surprised to see a $3 charge for ice in my whiskey. Not cool... at least warn people before charging. Probably wouldn't go back.

We had a great dinner here. Started with the truffle Mac n cheese with jalapeños. It was a great way to start. I had the lamb ragu and she had the shrimp and grits. We cleaned our plates. Everything was great food wise. Drinks were...just ok, but the food made up for it!More

My friend and I made a reservation at Fixture so we could sit outside. We were seated immediately, our wait person was attentive, helpful and so nice. I had the Chilaquiles and they were quite tasty! I only wish they had chicken breasts in addition...to the normal Chicken Thighs on some of the menu but otherwise the food was great! Will definitely return.More

We've been coming here for 2 years plus. Our go-to date night place. Talked it up to our 4 other friends and they agreed to try our favorite place. Worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Management non existent as well. 2.5hr + total...dining time. Not by our choice. We asked for checks 2x and 45 minutes later server still nowhere to be found. Had to leave to catch our other reservation and called back later that night to talk to a manager and pay the check. Charged us for everything even with all our issues. Too many great restaurants in d/fw to "come back as the gm's personal guest." Ben, you have some serious foh issues, gm included.More

Hmmmm...in light of the times they need to use wrapped straws or no straws at all. And the servers need to hold the glasses at the bottom not around the rim. Food was good. Service spotty. Brought wrong drink and wrong entree. Would we come...back? Perhaps.More

This was our first visit with friends and their kiddos. From reviews, we made reservations in advance for brunch but I’m not sure why as there was no wait and empty tables. Average brunch attire seemed to be yoga pants and messy buns. Our server...came to the table a bit flustered and jumped right to asking for our food order yet we requested to order drinks first. She took 4 of our 7 drink orders and started to walk away when we had to point out there were others who wanted drinks. They have a nice drink menu but the Bloody Mary carafe we ordered was disappointing. The brunch menu had some unique offerings but it leans more towards lunch and dinner type foods. Shrimp and grits, steak and grits, deviled eggs, Mac and cheese for example so if you’re looking for something more traditional it won’t be found here. My friends were disappointed that a children’s menu is not available (but is for lunch but that menu was not available at 11:30am) for brunch, though the server did offer an a la carte rosemary waffle and bacon as an option. Our server was infrequent and disappeared once the food hit the table. I don’t really recommend this place for young children. It’s a 20s something crowd and the atmosphere is more bar/breakfast than a family place. The food overall was pretty good. The server couldn’t make a recommendation other than “it’s all good”. I had the steak and grits and the steak was perfect. My other friend had the chilaquiles and said the ingredients were good but it was drowning in sauce. The rosemary waffles are good and they serve it with a chipotle syrup but regular is available. In my opinion because of the amount of rosemary the chipotle actually complicates the waffle and was much better with regular syrup. Overall I’d come back for drinks and lunch with friends but not breakfast. I want a brunch place that’s warm and welcoming and less pretentious. Did I mention you pay per cup of coffee?More

I loved eating here. The atmosphere is nice. Two separate rooms to eat and a third area with a bar and bar tops. The room we ate in had some nice sound absorbing panels on the ceiling so it wasn’t super loud which was really...nice. We had the brie and dried cranberries nachos. And before you think “that sounds weird” trust me when I say TRY IT. It’s really delicious and a nice combo of flavors surprisingly. I can’t handle spicy and even though the cranberries are soaked in jalapeño juice I give you my word it’s not that spicy it just gives the food a nice flavor. (I can’t handle spicy mustard so you’ll be okay I promise.) I have celiac disease so I have to eat gluten free and am extremely sensitive that I carry an Epipen. The fish tacos were delicious and totally gluten free. For dessert we did the coffee creme brûlée without the beignets. It was delicious and I highly recommend it. Our server was AMAZING and so attentive and happy. I really loved this dinner and overall experience and recommend it.More

Great to find a place which accepts brunch reservations. Very good food (the "small" chicken and waffles is HUGE!) cheap mimoas.
