Interesting food and good service

I enjoyed the use of different proteins (elk, rattlesnake, rabbit) and the preparations were quite interesting. Definitely try the elk sausage sliders! this restaurant is in the stockyards area with its mix of western style meat houses. the decor is cowboy western, even, to the longhorn steer looking down on you from above the bar. the food is urban western, meaning, old school meets today. the kitchen does quite well. our group of four adults enjoyed the unusually different hushpuppies as a... What an incredible experience. The food, the atmosphere, the service . . . . all exceptional. I had elk that was superb. The sides were wonderful - I especially like the beets. Did I mention the incredible wait staff? They were so attentive while being very unobtrusive. I just can't say enough about this great place.

We had a small group. Each of us chose various dinner items: elk loin, rabbit, and tenderloin. All great choices and the meat was cooked perfectly. I had the vegetable salad, it was a little bland. The waiter recommended an inexpensive wine and it was an excellent choice. From the waiter who refilled our water glass to the waiter who... More

We went to the Lonesome Dove as we had eaten at Woodshed and really enjoyed the meal. I have been generous with a 3 point review and this was based purely on the wine and the attentive service. There were 3 of us in the party and we all had something different from the menu and I am extremely disappointed... More

We had an amazing dinner. We visit Fort Worth every year to visit family, and we only eat at one fine restaurant each year. The flavor of the salad and entrees were distinctly Texan in flavor. There was just the right amount of spice in all our food. I had the tomahawk ribeye and my Wife had the Garlic stuffed... More

Great restaurant with really interesting menu served by really knowledgeable staff. Couldn't resist trying the rattlesnake and rabbit sausage and the kids found all their food really scrummy too. Would definitely go again.

After seeing the restaurant on the Travel Channel, and Chef Love competing on Iron Chef, we were really looking forward to dining here. Because of the prices of entrees, we elected to first try some appetizers; the lobster hush puppies were really fishy and the wild boar ribs were overcooked and dry. We left without ordering entrees.

It was my first time at this establishment, without a doubt I will be returning. The staff & food is beyond comparison! The menu had exotic and exciting items. It was an experience I would highly recommend.
