We went to the Beacon Cafe for breakfast because TripAdvisor gave it a 4.5 rating. Unfortunately, our experience was a 2.0 cafe. The two bright spots were the upside down pineapple pancakes that were 5 star quality and the service which was 4.0 quality. The...omelet looked great but the sausage I requested was pretty tasteless--fine ground sausage seldom has much flavor. They had several breakfast sides and none were good at all--most were dried out with little flavor. My favorite dessert is bread pudding and the bread pudding here just had a hint of the flavors I am used to. The prices were fine IF WE HAD GOTTEN A DECENT MEAL, but they were highway robbery in this case. Needless to say, we will never return here.More

If I could leave zero stars, I definitely would. Our server, Chris N., was completely unprofessional and very aggressive in front of two young children. My sister ordered the buffet. Her pancake was completely mushy and very liquidy. Upon checking out, we had asked to...just change hers from buffet to one pancake since that is all she had. He began rolling his eyes and mumbling under his breath. As he walked away, he threw the drink tray onto a table and stormed off. We then asked for the own and her daughter came by. We told her what was going on and as we were talking, the server walked up, bowed up and said “what the f***?” He began yelling and the daughter told him to go away. He said “No. I am going to f****** listen.” The daughter was very unprofessional and said we are not a place for you to eat food and not pay. That is not what was going on at all. The own, Christy, then came over very aggressive. All the while the server was pacing by our table with his chest buffed out, rolling his eyes. We said if this is what the service would be, we would not want to come back. The daughter came up and said “they never plan to come back so don’t waste your time.” Christy told her to walk away and as the daughter walked away she said “what the f****”. She blamed all this on the fact that customers are usually rude to the servers and excuses their behaviors. In the end, we will never go back. The fact that we had a guy bow up and try to start a fight with two young children and the language used around two children both under the age of 10. And the Christy was not helpful and very rude. We have been coming her for many years and this just ruined that.More

They are not located at the little airport anymore. Their new address is: 12721 Business Hwy 287, Fort Worth. Their new location is bigger and cleaner, however not as cool as eating inside the airport looking at the airplanes

We go here for brunch every year when we visit our friends in Fort Worth. It’s super casual so the kids love it and there is something to eat for everyone. Awesome grits and gravy and the Texas toast is oe fece! Not expensive and...the kids love watching the planes land.More

Our family loves the original Beacon Cafe at Hicks Airfield, so we were excited that another location opened nearby. I ordered food during the pandemic as a mother's day treat. The food as always did not disappoint. It was delicious! Just as good as the...other restaurant. The only issue I had was that in the middle of a pandemic no one was wearing a face mask. As a consumer this is important to me to feel that the restaurant is taking the proper precautions to not infect customers and employees. This was disappointing to the point that we haven't visited again. We will wait for life to go back to normal before we visit again. I wanted to support during this time that restaurants are struggling, but not willing to take any risks.More

Buffet brunch heaving with variety and quality is good, but a little pricey for the rustic cafe ($14.99). Expect limited parking and a 30-60 min wait on the weekends. Not tried it on a weekday so I can’t say. It was ok but not sure...I’ll go back.More

Best kept secret in Fort Worth. Located at Hicks Airport alongside the runway. Private planes pull into the parking lot beside your car. All there for an amazing brunch. A little pricey but definitely an experience. Whatever you do, treat yourself to a pineapple upside...down pancake. It is amazing!!!More

Wow! The minute I opened the door I was greeted with smiles and kind words , the owner just happened to be near to door and immediately stoped what she( Christie)was doing to welcome my family. The buffet was over the top then most restaurants,...variety was out of this world(Heavenly). Christie, had homemade biscuits and gravy my favorite, crips bacon and soft but very flavorable sausage, I can not forget about the fresh fruit, and all kinds of homemade cinnamon rolls. Everthing was very tastefully , serve was awesome, we will come back, possibly every Saturday.More

First, let me say that I'm not a picky eater. My husband and I went here expecting an improvement over the original owners, but to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. My husband had a cheeseburger and fries. The meat on the burger...was under-cooked. The fries had been previously fried and then put back in the grease to heat them up again. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of fruit for my side. I'm not sure what I was served, but it wasn't chicken salad. It consisted of big chunks of cold grilled chicken with a few slivers of almonds between 2 slices of over-cooked dry toast. It was in-eatable. All I ate was the fruit, which was fresh and tasty.More

Best American pancakes I’ve ever eaten in my life!! I had the pineapple upside down and pecan ones I’m still dreaming of the pineapple upside down one, but unfortunately when I went back the next time breakfast was over so I couldn’t indulge myself and...had a cheddar cheese and bacon burger instead, boy can they make a meal taste good, that burger tasted like life itself!! This place deserves a visit if you are in the Fort Worth regionMore

This is truly a hidden gem. The weekends have a buffet style made to order stations. There is so much food to choose from and all of it is delicious. So fun watching the planes land and takeoff and park at the restaurant.

Planned to eat at the Hicks Airport location, but a buddy gave me a ride over to this one (airport location was closed today). Coffee, sausage and Pineapple Upside Down Pancake were all excellent! Will be back some other time and try out the buffet.

This restaurant is right next to an airstrip and there are small planes coming and going during dining. It is set far back on the airstrip, so it seems you're in the wrong area to start...just keep driving between the runway and buildings. Saturday has...a lunch buffet with a huge variety of foods - meats, fruits, potatoes, mac and cheese - even pancake and omelette stations, made to order. There was not an option to order from a menu at that time. Atmosphere is laid back, casual. Parking can be difficult, because the planes have right of way and dedicated parking spaces. Went with the family and I'd definitely go again.More

Wife and I had high expectation due to other same name restaurants ("Beacon") in the area and the fact that they had a Sunday Breakfast Buffet until 2 pm. Service and staff very friendly. The cooks personally prepared your eggs or pancakes as you watched....Other buffet items somewhat limited and some items like biscuits and pastries were stale (not soft) and hard to eat. The fried bacon had little taste and was rather hard and chewy (Pork?). The Bacon Burn Ends were wonderful. The price of this breakfast was rather high and not for anyone on a budget.More

I am not a hotcake/pancake fan but this cafe has made me a convert. They have a weekend buffet that includes customized hotcakes. The location is unique-inside a small airport so you have the view of airplanes arriving and leaving plus the rumble of the...train passing by from time to time. The noise level is not overbearing so it allows you to enjoy it all from their patio, weather permitting. Overall, a great place.More
