This is a great place for brunch. The dining room is located inside the Museum of Modern Arts and overlooks a reflecting pond. The "breakfast" type offerings are limited but not the usual fare. The peaches and waffles are amazing. We also had the peaches & cornbread and "Guacamame" as appetizers, both unusual and tasted great. I would have given... More

This past month I decided to spend a special afternoon with each grandchild, so Sunday happened to be the five year old's turn. We walked through the cafe to the beautiful patio and reflection pool. They have comfortable sofas and umbrellas and a fantastic green lawn. It was a great exposure to the Modern Museum for her and a quite... More

After spending an entire Sunday afternoon viewing the Frank Stella Retrospective (closing Sept 2016), I had dessert at Cafe Modern. The best-dressed Sunday patrons were long gone by late afternoon yet the staff was energetic and happy to welcome me and other later guests. They happily offered recommendations and pairings -- the cafe has excellent cocktails, desserts, service, and views... More

This is a wonderful place for a quiet dinner or lunch. You can actually have a conversation without lots of noise. It has a beautiful view of the water. The lunch was very good. I am going back for sure.

Cafe Modern is a beautiful space with floor to ceiling windows that over look an infinity pool, however, if you go there for a meal - go for the space and be aware that the food is meh. My friend and I went for brunch and had the traditional eggs benedict. The breakfast potatoes were good, but not so good... More

My wife and I enjoy going to the Modern's film series every week. To make it a bit more of a "date" and make it very special, we occasionally dine at Cafe Modern. One could not find a more pleasant environment. The huge windows look out onto a beautiful and placid water feature. The staff has always been a cut... More

Beautiful cafe, I had a wonderful table by the window overlooking the water. Service although good I would not say it was excellent. The cafe is modern in decor but it gets incredibly loud, there seems like there is nothing to absorb the sound and you can imagine the noise with a lot of ladies enjoying lunch food - I... More

Lovely museum cafe with excellent wine list and menu. Sunday is free day at the modern so their brunch is busy and it is hard to get the desirable waterside table. Staff are personable and attentive.

Very chi chi in the Modern Art Museum. The setting can't be beat, the ambiance was a bit brash, nothing to absorb the load chatter of the conversations all around. All the food looked tasty and was well plated. We split the burger, it was delicious.

This is far and away the very best museum cafe of my life! And I've y been to quite a few. This one, however, rates so highly that I would say go there just for brunch or lunch. the view of the reflecting pool is amazing, the flatware artwork in it's own right, and P.S. the food is amazing. Go!... More
