Fun Sunday Lunch

Excellent brisket, ribs and sausage... rustic character, lots of laughter from the crew that was working made it very enjoyable. Fast service as well.... Off the beaten path which got us away from the crowds...

The staff was very friendly and the BBQ was fantastic. I had brisket and some places have a lot of fat on the slices. There's didn't. Just flavorful meat! Quick service, wide variety of choices. A definite return if in the area again.

Stopped on a whim in hopes of finding a great local East Texas BBQ joint to tell about later. Unfortunately this wasn't it. Service was friendly, but the pulled pork was dry and not well seasoned. I had to add BBQ sauce to moisten which is never good. Brisket was a little better. The green beans needed help, too--like salt... More

Came on a recommendation from a local, not disappointed. Brisket, ribs, and pulled pork were awesome, mac and cheese is righteous, sides were hit and miss, live music was great, service a bit slow, real Texas style sauce. A repeat!

I have visited this barbecue place several times in the past --usually to hear live music when Paul Ruark is performing--, but I don't go for the food. The barbecue has always been dry and lacking in flavor. The location, however, is convenient to Lake Palestine and is on Hwy. 155. I won't go back after my recent visit. Two... More

My pulled pork was EXCELLENT, great BBQ sauce, BUT this was after waiting 50 minutes on a slow, Sunday afternoon. A 7th member of out party waited an additional 15 minutes for a plate of sliced beef - their standard fare. The waitress was nice and helpful, but we could never quite figure out the cause of the delay. We... More

7 of us arrived at 12:15 on a Sunday to a half full restaurant. 45 minutes later an apologetic waitress brought out two orders. Final order arrived after 1:00. The ribs were very good, didn't need any sauce. The guys with the brisket could not finish, the highest compliment was "mediocre". Good marks for the pulled pork sandwich with actual... More

I love this place, I always have the pulled pork nachos....yum. They used to have some sort of potato patty appetizer but did not see it this time around, friendly staff, good service, casual atmosphere. The white dust parking lot is a pain. There is a shop of sorts as you exit the opposite side that you park and the... More
